This is what our customers say:-
"This pub is a gem. Everything about the place in fantastic. The atmosphere, the welcome, the timelessness, the beer, the log fire, the characters, the realistic prices, the superb attitude of the locals who go out of their way to greet and include you. On the last two visits we have been given Christmas cake, cheese, and champagne by locals who did not even know us. I love the courtesy and manner of the established landlord and landlady who are extremely friendly to locals and visitors alike. If you appreciate a proper pub, then make the journey. You will not be disappointed and you will not want to leave." Village pubs usually ceased to be like this years ago, but not this one, in this tiny village close to the Welsh border. A small wood panelled corridor leads you in, with wooden doors on latches the only clue that anything else remains- snug, games room and bar room. These are completely independent of one another and it's easy to imagine the others aren't there- a true multi-roomed pub. The bar room is tiny and full of hand clips, on my visit Stonehouse Station Bitter and Cambrian Gold were avaiable. Friendly locals and barman as always in these sorts of pub- if only they were all like this. The pub can get packed for it's live music nights as we found out. Rightly on CAMRA's NI of pub interiors. Not the easiest to find up country lanes but do go for a taste of the past, you won't regret it." "Fabulous traditional pub, on CAMRA inventory of interiors worthy of preservation. Excellent Stonehouse beer plus changing guest. Music on Thursday and Friday evenings. Only pity is it's not open Monday or Tuesday, what are the locals playing at!"

Come and see us to share what our customers are already experiencing!! The Cross Keys has been in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide for 23 years and is one of only three pubs in Shropshire which is listed in CAMRA's Inventory of Historic Pubs with Unspoilt Interiors. The Cross Keys is a conversation pub, no Juke Box or recorded music, but live Irish music on Thursday nights and music events from time to time in our function room. The Cross Keys is located in the quiet village of Selattyn, close to Offa's Dyke footpath and 3 miles from the market town of Oswestry. The historic towns of Chester and Shrewsbury are only 30 minutes away. A post office and shop are less than 5 minutes by car and there are numerous places to eat within 15 minutes drive. The area is quiet, very beautiful and will be especially attractive to walkers, bird watchers, golfers, fishermen and those who appreciate fine beer.
