As performances of The Girl on the Train are well underway on the main stage, we take a peak inside rehearsals for our final Studio production of the Season Shelia’s Island 🥾

Sheila, Denise, Julie and Fay embark on a corporate teambuilding exercise in the Lake District. But a navigational misstep strands them on a tiny island in Derwentwater – and suddenly their carefully managed office lives turn into a comic survival scenario.

Volunteers appreciation week 🫂🤗

❤️ Thank you to each and every one of our volunteers for all you do.

🎭Abbey Theatre is run entirely by volunteers other than the Theatre Manager. That’s a lot of people pouring their love and efforts to keep this theatre open for you all.

🎪It takes 70 volunteers to put a show on from backstage to front of house. (That’s 700 volunteer shifts for the whole season)

🍻It’s not all about hard work though! We put on plenty of events for our volunteers so they can get together and enjoy some drinks and laughs.
