The Award winning Cider and Perry Co are form the depths of the Wye valley. The Broome farm estate has been in the Johnson family for over 70 years, with a vast history of cider making. Surrounded by new and old orchards a like, Mike Johnson has constantly strived to plant many traditionally varieties. There are now well over 70 varieties of apple and Perry pears growing on the farm enabling the c

reation of unique blends and single variety ciders perrys and ciders. The farm is a hive of busy activity all year round, from hands on cider making experiences to guided walks through the orchards at blossom time and of course the all important cider testing’s. Concerts and Festivities
We work hard to make some of the best cider and Perry; we also like to have fun. An so During the summer months a host of events takes place in the cider barn, from Blues and folk to ceilidh’s to opera! Keep an eye out for upcoming events. Volunteer Weekends. Fancy getting out of the city, or maybe your looking to learn how to make your own cider! We run ‘job weekends’ for volunteers to come and help us and get some fresh air. Is there a more perfect match in heaven and earth than cider and sunshine? From the summer sun grow the apples bounty, over winters night the juice ferments, and here under the warming glow once again we drink and celebrate. ☀️

Summer Cider is a blend of heritage varieties that combine to create a refreshing and complex cider. Hagloe Crab, Major, Bulmer's Norman, Northwood and Sweet Coppin make a five apple medley of joyful flavours. Perfectly balanced, with soft tannins, the scent of apple blossom, and the refreshing, sun-filled character that only beautiful pure juice cider delivers.

🚨🚨🚨 Summer Cider lands tomorrow as part of a full flight of amazing cider and perries! 🚨🚨🚨

Summer Cider is our latest seasonal release. Limited edition ciders made from blends of heritage varieties that evoke the character of the season. This is extra exciting as it is our first time blending a definitive Summer tasting cider.

We welcomed some of our online shop subscribers, our 'cider crew' back in the early Spring to the farm and spent the day tasting and blending together. After several hours of work, we had a blend we all toasted together and celebrated. But the next day I realised it just wasn't quite right. In wanting to produce a larger volume of the cider, we were limited by needing to use certain varieties and that restricted our blending options. But taste is always the most important part of cidermaking, so back to the drawing board, and instead we've made a much smaller batch using really special apples that is a beautiful dry, balanced and refreshing cider. There is only 600 bottles.

All in equal parts, we have Major, Bulmer's Norman, Hagloe Crab, Northwood and Sweet Coppin. Working in harmony they have soft flavours, balancing the tropical acidity of Hagloe with the soft, rounded tannins of Bulmer's Norman and Major. Northwood and Sweet Coppin are classed as "sweet" apples, and including them in a blend helps gentle the cider and bring the refreshing character we want in a summer drink.

We're loving the direction that our seasonal release series is giving us. It's a wonderful perspective to use to understand and work with our cider and our collection of rare heritage varieties. Weaving in historic apples like Hagloe Crab with workhorses like Bulmer's Norman. Thank you to everyone who is coming along for the ride and enjoying drinking all of the seasonal ciders so far.

If you haven't been before, how can we sum this wonderful event up for you? Amazing cider served all weekend (made by us) at our bar! Fantastic music across the whole weekend. Tasty food from local food vendors. Family friendly camping in our beautiful orchards. Incredible visiting cidermakers taking over our cider barn on Saturday. A hilarious and fun dog show. A lovely craft fayre. A calvados tasting. A cider share. An interesting talk schedule...and so much more!

Every year, people arrive from around the world at Broome Farm for a magical weekend amongst the apple and pear trees. 🌳🍎 We are so excited to welcome you back this year!

Tickets are also available now for our Thursday night Cider Club on Thursday 3rd September which kicks off the festival. DO NOT miss your chance to get a ticket for this as it normally sells out fast! SAUSAGE NEWS. The brilliant local Ross-on-Wye butcher Hanks’ Meat & Game made my week last Wednesday by asking if we fancied collaborating with them on a recipe for cider infused sausages. And they're now available for everyone!

Made with 2025 Dabinett, a juicy, orangey cider still bursting with fresh fruit and big sweetness and the best locally sourced free range pork, these sausages are literally bangers!!

Last night my club faced in . A brilliant game that went down to the absolute final ball when Goodrich snatched victory from Ross. A gutting way to lose but the soreness wore off thanks to their sponsored BBQ. Great atmosphere in a friendly rivalry with cider and sausages after making it all worthwhile!

Wee orchard update infront of my favourite apple variety, Brown Snout. Have you visited us and explored our free orchard walk? We have a 2.5K and 5K loop walk around the farm, with 30 information signs and an audio narration. Completely free to access, and family and dog friendly. It's a beautiful place to come for an hour or two.

A nice relaxed little get together for parents and children, with time to browse the market stalls if you would like to!

Blossom Day - it's tomorrow!!! 🌸❣️

Starting at , pick up a map from midday onwards and head down to Broome Farm, following our signposted orchard walk. You can choose to do a 2.5km or a 5km walk, reading all about our apples, pears, cidermaking and orchards as you go.

There are plenty of benches and picnic spots around the routes if you want to stop and enjoy the scenery! We even have an orchard library full of books for children and also for adults - feel free to borrow one whilst on the farm, kick back and relax! 📚

On the route you will find Mike giving out tasters of our cider. Apple juice will be available for children. This is free, but we are encouraging donations for the wonderful local charity .

If you're eager for one of Hilary's famous cream teas, then stop by the patio between midday and 3pm. ☕🍰 Absolutely delicious!

Food will be served at from midday to 8pm by the Steet Food Collective. Come and see what they are all about!
