Relax by the fire, enjoy hearty food, or call in for a pint after exploring the village and the surrounding Dales. The Bull is a very old traditional country inn set on the banks of the River Ure in the picturesque village of West Tanfield which lies just north of the ancient Cathedral City of Ripon. Restored in 1699, parts of the inn are formed from what was once the ferryman’s cottage and the artist JMW Turner drew scenes of the nearby ancient Marmion Tower on one of his many tours of Yorkshire.

❤️ THE END OF AN ERA AT THE BULL INN ❤️

Today we say a very fond farewell to our Head Chef, Laura, after an incredible 15 years at The Bull Inn! 🥹

Laura first walked through the doors at just 15 years old, and 15 years later, she’s become such a huge part of The Bull Inn family.

Anyone who knows Laura knows what an incredibly hard worker she is. Nothing is ever too much trouble, she’s always willing to go that extra mile, and she’s someone you can always count on. ❤️

Over the years, she’s been part of countless memories, celebrations and special occasions, and has helped make The Bull what it is today.

Laura, you really will be missed by everyone — the team, the locals and all our customers who have got to know you over the years.

Thank you for everything you’ve done for The Bull Inn over the last 15 years. We wish you all the happiness and success in whatever comes next.
