**UPDATE 19:26 6TH SEP: The road has now reopened**

We are currently at the scene of a collision in London Road .

Damage has been caused to the wires of a telegraph pole near the 📍 White Hill junction so we expect the road to be closed here for some time.

Please avoid the area where possible and seek an alternative route.

This vehicle was seized by police after it was spotted being ridden illegally across farmland in .

Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team were out on patrol when they were alerted to two vehicles being driven across freshly cultivated farmland without permission.

They quickly attended the location and successfully seized one of the vehicles.

While some may view this type of offending as low-level, it can have a significant impact on our local communities. Riding vehicles across farmland can cause damage to crops and fields, create distress for landowners and residents, and pose a danger to both the riders and members of the public. Our farming community works hard to produce food and maintain the countryside, and damage caused by irresponsible vehicle use can result in substantial financial losses and unnecessary repair costs.

❗ We would like to remind residents that there is currently nowhere within the Three Rivers district where off-road vehicles can be legally ridden on farmland, council-owned land, parks, open spaces or public footpaths without the relevant permission and authority.

Those found using vehicles in this manner risk having them seized and destroyed, as well as facing prosecution where appropriate.

We will continue to respond to reports, conduct patrols in hotspot areas and take robust action against those responsible.

If you witness anti-social use of off-road vehicles, please report it via our website or by calling 101. In an emergency, or if there is an immediate risk to people or property, always call 999.

Good news ✅

Earlier today (Tuesday 1 September), we published images of a jewellery box that had been found discarded on the M25 near Junction 17.

We are pleased to say we have now identified the owner and are working on returning the items.

We are appealing for the public’s help to trace a quad bike which has been stolen from farmland in the Maple Cross area.

The distinctive red Honda TRX 520 Foreman ATV was taken at around 10.50pm on Monday (24 August), after two people caused extensive damage to fencing.

PC Christian Gottmann said: “Theft and damage have huge financial implications for our hardworking farmers and we’re keen to get the vehicle returned as soon as possible. We’re also working to trace those responsible for taking it.

“The ATV has some quite distinctive features so we’re hoping someone may have come across it.

“If you believe you have seen it, or been offered it for sale, please contact police straight away.”

Two people were arrested after drugs and weapons were recovered during an operation in Oxhey.

Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) executed a warrant at a residential address yesterday (Monday 24 August) as part of an ongoing investigation into the supply of controlled drugs.

Suspected cannabis, packaged into individual deal bags was located, along with several prohibited weapons.

A man and woman were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and possession of an offensive weapon.

Enquiries are continuing.

Drugs and the violent criminality often associated with their supply and use causes a great deal of fear and harm among local communities. We will continue to take action against anyone suspected to be involved.

Officers have released an image of a man they would like to identify following a theft in Three Rivers.

At around 6.30pm on Sunday 26 July it is reported that items were stolen from the Co-Op in Delta Gain.

The man in the image is believed to have been in the area around the time of the incident and may be able to assist with enquiries.

Another day, another e-scooter seized in Three Rivers 🛴

Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) were on patrol in Mill End when they spotted the scooter being ridden illegally.

The rider had already been given words of advice, but had obviously chosen to ignore them 🙄

The scooter is now awaiting destruction.

❗It remains illegal to ride an e-scooter on a public road or space anywhere in . They may only be ridden on private land, with the owner’s permission.

While many people may think these scooters are harmless fun, they can pose a real danger, with numerous injuries and even fatalities being reported.

🏡 Keep your home secure while you are away

If you are planning summer holidays or days out in the coming weeks, make sure your home is secure if left unoccupied.

Some parts of the county experience increases in burglaries over the summer, with residents reporting 23 burglaries since the start of July. We are working hard to catch those responsible, so you may see more police activity in your area.

If you are planning to leave your home empty, even for short periods of time, follow these tips:

• Close and lock all windows, doors and outbuildings.
• Use timers on lights so that they turn on as it gets dark in the evenings. You could also use a timer switch for a radio (always follow manufacturer's instructions).
• Installing a doorbell camera and internal/external Wi-Fi cameras, is a low-cost deterrent which will allow you to keep an eye on your home whilst you are away.
• Ask your neighbour to put your rubbish or recycling bins back if they’re being collected whilst you’re away – if they’re left out after collection day it could indicate to a passing thief that your house is unoccupied. Be a good neighbour and do the same for them.
• If you aren’t leaving your car at home, ask a neighbour/friend to park their car on your drive.
• Don’t forget to cancel deliveries of milk, newspapers etc.
• Consider moving enticing items, such as laptops and mobile devices, so that they are out of sight, or store them in the loft when you go away.
• If you are away for a longer period of time in the summer months, ask your neighbour to cut your grass. This helps to show that the house may be occupied.
• You could also ask someone you trust to help give your home a lived-in look by opening and drawing the curtains, taking in any free newspapers and moving your mail away from the letterbox.
• Sharing your holiday plans on social media can tip off burglars that your home is going to be empty, so make sure your security settings only let family and friends see your posts.

A man has been charged in connection with two shoplifting offences in Mill End, thanks to the swift actions of officers on patrol.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) were in the area when PC Gottmann spotted a person of interest. Unfortunately, they weren’t keen to stop for a chat and ran off towards Rickmansworth High Street.

PCSO Beeson sprang straight into action, providing colleagues with a running commentary (literally! 🏃) of the situation, allowing officers from the Response team to attend and make an arrest.

Alcohol, reported as stolen, was recovered during the incident.

• Christopher Branley, aged 32, from Teignmouth Street, London, has been charged with two counts of theft from BP in Mill End, alleged to have occurred on 9 and 11 August. He has been bailed ahead of an appearance at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on 18 September.
