An unprecedented 15 entries on Sunday for the curry contest. A big thank you to everyone who took part and many thanks to Adam, Chris, Damien and Joe for judging.

The results in reverse order:
3rd: Yupin - Thai chicken and pineapple
2nd: Adam Russell - brown and hot chicken curry
1st: Matt 🙄😂 - chicken, chickpea and broad beans with a medley of chillies in a tomato based sauce.
The standard was extremely high with a great range including lamb, paneer, cauliflower, egg, seafood and a couple of biryanis. All delicious!
Matt, as winner (again) has chosen the theme for next month’s contest, which is: suet - savoury or sweet. Make of that what you will!
It’ll take place on Sunday 29th November at 2pm.

We’ll be taking part in Ramsgate’s first Autumn Festival with a Dark Deal on Gadds’ Black Pearl Oyster Stout 6.2%.
Roasted barley, malted oats and Kent grown Fuggles hops combine to create this luscious bible-black stout.
From the 23rd October to 1st November inclusive, there will be a 13% discount on Black Pearl cask, keg and bottles.
We do hope you will be able to join us for an autumnal celebration.

In support of the SIBA Draught Relief campaign, and to demonstrate the huge difference in b**r duty between the UK and Germany, we're taking part in Drop the Pint Day on Friday 9th October.
70 pints of our cask ales will be served at German Duty Prices. This means 50p off the price of a pint.
The campaign focuses on how a lower Draught Relief can support community pubs and independent breweries. This action day highlights what the potential of having German duty rates could be and the vast difference in duty rates in Europe versus the UK. We do hope you can join us 🍻

Hi everyone, just to let you know that we’ll have the launch of Gadds’ 2026 Green Hop Ale in the pub tonight. The b**r will be flowing from 6.30pm, Matt’s providing sausages (meat and veg) as soaky-uppiness on the bar, plus Gaddzukes will lead a Green Hop sing-along just after 8pm. All welcome 🍻

Last Sunday, for our monthly cooking contest, there were three quiche entries, judged by Ade, Claire and Steve.
Results as follows:
1st: Damien - vintage cheddar, smoked lardons, egg and crème fraiche custard topped with parsley in cheese pastry.
2nd: Mac - chicken fajita and red pepper
3rd: Ali - bacon, cheese, tomato and green peppers.
All three delicious, big thanks for your efforts.
Damien has chosen the next theme which will be curry. This will take place on Sunday 25th October at 2pm. All welcome to join us and/or enter your creation! 🍻

We’re looking forward to being part of the Ramsgate Festival of Sound Busk Until Dusk again this Saturday!
Bands will be playing in various pubs across town from 12pm - 6pm

Our line-up is as follows:

5.30pm: Tez

A big thank you to everyone who entered the pasty cooking contest on Sunday 23rd August, we had an unprecedented 11 submissions! Congratulations to everyone on your efforts.
Results as follows:
1st: Maxine - spicy chickpea, sweet potato, red pepper, tomato - with top marks for presentation too! 🥇
2nd: Mel - South American pulled pork empanadas with dipping sauce 🥈
3rd: Jem - traditional Cornish pasty 🥉
Highly commended:
Damien - slow cooked beef brisket with gravy
Isis & Louis - spinach, chicken and chorizo curry
Sandra - traditional Cornish double ended with beef and sweet apple
Steve - fish pasties
Other fillings were chicken; tomato and halloumi; pork chilli and fennel; haggis neeps and tatties, all very tasty.
Max, as winner, has chosen the theme for next month’s competition: quiche 😎
This will take place at 2pm on Sunday 20th September. See you then, if not before. Cheers everyone 🍻
