The Royal Oak Quorn

The Royal Oak Quorn Relax in front of the open fire on a frosty winters evening or slouch back in the sun trapped garden

Found in the heart of the idyllic Leicestershire village of Quorn, 2 High Street, has been The Royal Oak, Free house since 1856. Since October 2015, Antonio and Sophie have been working hard to create a warm and welcoming pub for all. So that you can either relax in front of the open fire on a frosty winters evening or slouch back in the sun trapped beer garden in the height of summer. Within the village central location, The Royal Oak naturally lends itself to be the perfect meeting pub. On a Friday and Saturday evening the pub is popular with night time revellers enjoying the hustle and bustle of Quorn at night. When you arrive, let time stand still and enjoy a drink with friends or read the paper to catch up on the news of the day.

Two British brewing names have joined forces to create something special. For the first time ever, Hawkstone has stepped into the world of cask beer, partnering with Butcombe Brewing Co. to brew Hops & Glory, a modern 4.2% Real English Pale Ale that celebrates the very best of British brewing. Available at the Royal Oak Quorn.

Some things have a habit of repeating themselves… 🌧️

Quorn has a long history of flooding, and The Royal Oak has certainly seen its fair share, both historically and in more recent years.

This photograph, taken outside The Royal Oak around 1932–1933, shows landlord George Archibald (front, in the lighter-coloured coat) alongside members of the local community, working together to bail water from the street.

Almost a century later, scenes like this are a reminder of just how much the history of the pub is tied to the history of Quorn itself.

Every one of the 650 listed establishments has been tried and tested by a panel of six experts, all of whom have very strong opinions about what makes a great pub. Atmosphere, of course; fixtures and fittings that engender warmth, happiness and cosiness; good beer, particularly cask ale; and a sense of place.
