The lovely little secret garden across the road is now bursting into full bloom - cheers to UCLAN Forensics for providing such a cracking bit of colour!

The Gaffer was last seen scurrying down towards Savers, eyes streaming, determined to fill his boots with their entire stock of antihistamines…..

LOOK.
We’re really sorry about this, especially if you were planning on coming to the pub tonight, but these two herberts will once again be on stage from 9pm, delivering what they assure us is “a quiz”. We think they’ve got a deal with the owners or something.
Anyhow, there’s your only warning.
Listen, we’ve got loads of live music, open mics, games nights, film nights etc coming up, ok? Just try your best to see past it.

JUST ANNOUNCED!
One of our FAVOURITE kickass singer songwriters has just announced a European solo tour…. and he’s gonna be coming to Vinyl Tap!
Lee Baines will be hitting our stage on Tuesday 8th September 2026 - ticket links in our bio.
Last time he toured we drove over to Sheffield to see him… and he was FANTASTIC!

“In August 2026, as Trumpism grips his home country and looms large in the world, Alabama songwriter Lee Bains will embark on his first solo tour of the U.K. and Europe, carrying music that Rolling Stone once called “Southern gospel punk” and a message of defiance, solidarity, and hope.

A cult songwriter forged in independent scenes, his work has carried him all over the U.S. and Europe, has received acclaim from the likes of The New York Times, NPR and the Guardian, has allowed him to open for artists including the Alabama Shakes, Drive-By Truckers and John Moreland, and has led him to be a supporting musician for artists like Lonnie Holley, Moor Mother and Algiers.

This year will see Bains release a live solo album, Free South 2025, on Don Giovanni Records, and publish his debut poetry collection, Work Lunch, through Hub City Press”.
