Hello everyone,

What a great morning and lunch we’ve had on so far!!

We’ve met some great people who are so friendly, it really is heart warming and we already feel part of the local community, so thank you!

A little side note, please remember all our food is prepared with fresh ingredients and prepared to order so sometimes it will take a little longer but we think you’ll tell us it’s definitely worth the wait!!

Good morning everyone

Thank you for your patience whilst Stephen & Liam have been preparing the kitchen & new menu’s.

We are finally there & the first dozen or so have been in this morning and we are glad to say everyone wolfed the food down!

Thank you to everyone who came last night especially our family & friends who travelled distance to come and check us out.

We had some excellent feed back on the taster food that we put on last night for the soft opening, the food went that fast we didn’t manage to get pictures of everything 🤦🏻‍♂️

Menu’s will be put up shortly for everyone’s perusal,

Good morning all,

Our menu has now been finalised & we are printing it up ready to open on Monday!!

A few bumps in the road to flatten but we’ll get there 💯 %

Ava from our lovely front of house team has made a beautiful cappuccino & iced coffee to keep us going this morning.

We’ve met some some amazing locals and out of towner’s this last few days and everyone has been so warm hearted & welcoming which is helping to make this our fast and tough transition so much easier!

🎣 A New Chapter at Pheasant Wood Fishery🎣
We’re delighted to introduce ourselves — Stephen & Liam — and to announce that we have officially taken over the lodge reins at Pheasant Wood Fishery.

We’ll be taking charge of the café/restaurant, bar and tackle shop, and we’re really looking forward to welcoming both familiar faces and new customers through the doors.

Hospitality is very much in our blood. Between us, we have a wealth of experience in the industry, having spent the first 30 years of Stephen’s life and 25 years of Liam’s working in our parents’ 50-bedroom hotel, which boasted a 120-seater restaurant and two bars.

Liam worked as the hotel’s chef for many years before going on to work as a chef in other restaurants, while Stephen started his hospitality career as a pot wash at just 14, eventually working his way up to become General Manager.

So, after many years in hospitality, we’re excited to bring our experience, passion and family values to Pheasant Wood Fishery and make it a place where everyone feels welcome.

🍽️ Kitchen Reopening — Monday 14th September
We’re pleased to announce that the lodge kitchen will reopen on Monday 14th September.
Our opening food hours will be:

🥓 Breakfast: 9:00am – 11:45am
🍽️ Lunch: 12:00pm – 4:00pm
🌙 Evening meals: 5:00pm – 8:00pm
These hours will run Monday to Saturday inclusive.
Our Sunday food hours are still being finalised and we’ll confirm these over the coming days.

We’ve also been busy revising the menus, which will be available to view from Saturday.

A huge thank you to Alison for all her help throughout the handover. We really appreciate it and wish her all the very best in her future endeavours.

We’re incredibly excited about this new chapter and look forward to meeting you all, serving up some great food, and getting to know everyone who visits the fishery.

Last but definitely not least we would like to thank PJ & Sibby for this opportunity - onwards & upwards!

Every journey has its turning points, and right now, the path I need to take requires me to step back, take a much-needed timeout, and focus entirely on my health and recovery.

​While it breaks my heart to make this decision, my body and mind simply need time to heal. Looking back at how far I’ve come and everything I’ve built here, my heart is completely overflowing with gratitude for the people who made every step of this journey so deeply special.

​To my customers: Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You didn't just support a business; you welcomed me into your lives and became part of my family. Your warmth, your trust, and your everyday smiles gave this place its spirit. You were the absolute soul of this entire adventure.

​To my incredible team: Calling you "staff" will never be enough. You were the heart, the hustle, and the steady hands through every single challenge. Thank you for your patience, your endless laughter during the hard days, and the genuine love you poured into this place. I could not have asked for a better crew to share the ride with.

​To Pete, Sibby, and family: I want to say a massive, heartfelt thank you for giving me this incredible opportunity in the first place. Your belief in me means more than words can say, and I wish you all the very best for the future. I will always be truly grateful to you all.

​Because this business was built with so much love and has such a strong foundation, it is far too special to simply lock the doors. The bar is remaining fully open—serving up all your favourite drinks, hot coffee, and delicious cakes—so the life of this place carries on!
