TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT! Join us at The Maritime Inn on Plymouth Barbican for the GRAND FINAL of this year's Battle of the Bands! Four brilliant bands, one brilliant prize - who will walk away with £500, a paid gig at the Maritime, and the headline slot at this year's Plymouth Barbican Christmas Lights Switch On in November??

Will it be indie rockers Echo.On, upbeat pop/hip-hop purveyors EachOther, female-fronted pop/rockers, with a side of sass, Hot Mess Theory , or all-female dreamy alt-rockers The Other Woman?

Our judging panel is in for a hell of a job tonight, so make sure you're at the Maritime Inn from 7pm, giving the bands some vocal support - YOUR reactions will help them win the prize.

Well, this is very exciting!

Tomorrow night, Andy and I from Plymouth on Tap will be joining the judging panel for Battle of the Bands 2026 Grand Final at The Maritime Inn powered by Koru Entertainment.

Four bands, one winner and absolutely no pressure whatsoever!

It all kicks off at 7pm tomorrow, Friday 28th August, at The Maritime Inn.

We’ve been to a lot of gigs, drunk in a lot of pubs and expressed a lot of opinions about both, so presumably this was the natural next step.

Come down, make some noise and support some brilliant local bands. This is going to be a superb night.

Well, we didn't see that one coming... Tonight's Battle of the Bands heat at Maritime Inn got a bit of a shake-up! Unfortunately, HEAT have withdrawn from the contest due to personal reasons, leaving us with Beggars & Thieves facing off against .on.band! Music will now start a little later, at 8.30, with the brilliant Chris Bradley warming up the crowd, and the first band on at 9pm! The draw will be made this afternoon, so let's see you at the Maritime Inn on Plymouth Barbican this evening to support your favourite band, and who knows? YOUR enthusiasm might carry them all the way into the final!

After last year's runaway success of Battle of the Bands at The Maritime Inn, it's BACK for 2026! That's right - we've teamed up with Plymouth Waterfront Partnership to offer an incredible prize package. Last year's winners, 3 Days of Wonder entertained a crowd of over 10,000 people at the Plymouth Barbican Christmas Lights Switch On, and this year, it could be YOUR turn!

As well as the headline slot at the Plymouth Barbican Christmas Lights Switch On, there's a £500 cash prize up for grabs, and a paid gig at the Maritime Inn on Plymouth Barbican - what's not to love? 12 bands, 4 heats, 1 final and 1 winner, and you have to be in it to win it!

All you have to do is submit a video of a LIVE performance, of a full song (first lyric to last lyric), make sure that your band has at least 3 members who are all over 16, read the rules, and then fill out the entry form. Simples!
