🍂 OUR AUTUMN MENU IS COMING… AND IT’S LOOKING GOOD! 🍂

We’ve been busy planning our new Autumn Menu at The Royal Oak & Castle Inn, and we’re getting very excited about what’s coming! 🍁🍽️

Think proper comforting pub favourites, seasonal flavours and some delicious new dishes — with plenty of choice for those with dietary requirements and intolerances too. We want everyone to be able to find something they’ll love. ❤️

And there’s more good news… from October we’re extending our kitchen opening hours and adding ALL DAY FRIDAY! 🙌

Monday–Thursday • 11am–2:30pm & 6pm–8pm
Friday & Saturday • 12pm–8:30pm
Sunday • 11am–6pm

👀 A little clue… because it’s starting to look like this might actually be happening! 🤫❤️

Last week I shared a little bit about something Marc has been quietly working on behind the scenes.

I’m still not telling you what it is just yet… but I can probably give you another little clue. 👀

Over the last few months, Marc has found himself spending more time at home than he normally would. Rather than letting that time get the better of him, he decided to channel it into something positive — learning a completely new skill from scratch.

Lots of reading.
Lots of research.
Lots of experimenting.
A few things that definitely didn’t go to plan 😂
And plenty of starting again.

Usually with our new puppy somewhere close by, supervising proceedings! 🐶❤️

And I think there’s something really important in that.

You are never too old to learn something new.

Self-development doesn’t have an age limit. Sometimes having something new to learn, work towards and get excited about can give you a focus when life is throwing some pretty difficult things your way.

What started as an interest for Marc has slowly turned into something he has become incredibly passionate about — and something that is completely his.

And I really want to emphasise that part.

This is Marc’s thing. ❤️

He has learnt it.
He has researched it.
He has practised it.
He has made the mistakes.
He has perfected things.
And he has created it.

I’ve supported him all the way through, but ask me anything technical about what he actually does and you’ll probably get a completely blank face. 😂

I’m the paperwork department. 📝
That bit I can do!

Watching him turn what could have been a really difficult period into an opportunity to learn, develop and create something of his own has made me incredibly proud.

And after another little step forward this week…

I think we can finally say that this might actually be happening. 🤞❤️

So, clue number two…

🐶 A puppy by his side.
📚 A completely new skill.
📝 A LOT of paperwork.
⏳ Plenty of patience.
❤️ And something Marc has quite literally created himself.
