Our 2026 World Cup sweepstake is now open at The Hyde Dendy ⚽

There are 48 teams available, all sealed inside envelopes and ready to be picked at random.

It’s £5 per team. Simply choose an envelope, write your name and contact number on it, and we’ll reveal the teams on the date of the World Cup Final, Sunday 19th July.

There are prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, plus a bonus prize if your team concedes the most goals in the group stages.

Our GIANT outdoor screen will be up and running just in time for the World Cup Opening Ceremony in Mexico from 6:30PM TOMORROW! 🥳

This is your first proper chance to get a feel for what our Hyde Dendy garden is about this summer. Then on Saturday, we’ve got Bath v Exeter Chiefs at 3PM, showing inside and outside on the screen, followed by live music from Yonder Folk 2-4PM to keep the day going.

We don’t just serve ice cream for humans anymore. Your pups can now enjoy their very own frozen treat too!

Our new doggy ice cream is a healthier alternative, lactose free, low calorie and rich in calcium. We’ve got strawberry flavour available, and it’s already proving to be a real treat with Bluebell, who popped in and gave it her very important seal of approval 🐶💕

We’re backing the campaign to reduce VAT for hospitality from 20% to 10% 👍🥂

Right now, the UK has one of the highest hospitality VAT rates in Europe. Every meal out, pint, coffee, hotel stay or event ticket comes with 20% VAT attached.

Compare that to:
- Germany: 7%
- France: 10%
- Spain: 10%
- Italy: 10%

So when people ask why hospitality is under so much pressure, this is a huge part of the answer. UK venues are trying to absorb rising costs while paying far more VAT than many of our European neighbours. UKHospitality’s campaign says 10% is fair for hospitality, bringing the UK closer in line with countries such as France, Spain, Italy and Germany.

A lower VAT rate helps protect pubs, restaurants, cafés, hotels, bars, nightclubs, festivals and the local jobs that come with them. When venues close, communities lose more than places to eat and drink. They lose meeting spots, first jobs, local character, high street footfall and places where people come together.
