THE FIFTH CHALLENGE! Support Maureen’s walk to raise funds for the Palace.
Maureen McAllister, the Chief Executive at the Palace Theatre, is gearing up for her fifth fundraising walk to benefit the theatre – this October she’ll be tackling an exciting 10-day adventure to the breathtaking Azores, a stunning archipelago nestled in the Atlantic Ocean.
The journey will take her through the picturesque landscapes of three beautiful islands: Faial, São Jorge, and Pico.
She will complete the Caminhos Velhos Trail, a scenic 17.5 km hike from sea level to the stunning Caldeira, with panoramic views from nearly 1,000 metres; she’ll tackle the Dez Vulcoes Trail, a 19.5 km coastal hike along volcanic ridges to the Capelinhos eruption site; she’ll climb the Spine Walk, a 17 km trail that traverses the island’s volcanic scenery; and no trip to the Azores would be complete without conquering Mount Pico, Portugal’s highest peak. During her time in the Azores, Maureen will walk nearly 100kms.
Maureen has previously raised funds for the Palace Theatre by completing notable walks such as the Camino de Santiago, the Via Francigena, the Rota Vicentina and the Stevenson’s Trail in the Cevennes Mountains.
As always, Maureen is fully funding this walk herself, dedicating her efforts to help maintain and enhance the Palace Theatre in Paignton.
The money raised will go directly towards ensuring the theatre can continue to provide a space for performances and community events.
You can help make a difference by donating to her campaign or sharing it with your friends and family.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will help preserve the Palace Theatre for future generations.
Join us in supporting Maureen and this vital community resource. Thank you for your generosity!
