We have good news and bad news......

The bad news is that the heat wave looks like it's calmed down a bit.

The good news is that Escargot are back on the menu!

We know many of you were worried when they vanished, but it was mainly to help keep the heat down in our kitchen for our lovely chefs 🫠

We hope to see you all this week for much loved garlic snails 😍🐌

It is with great sadness that we must announce that our wonderful, handsome, charming Landlord Josh, is to be stepping away from the Bookies at the end of August. Rumours have been circulating for a while, but it is now confirmed that he’ll be moving on to pastures new. Nobody is sure quite what those pastures are yet, but we wish him all the best in whatever he chooses to do.

No doubt he’ll be popping in and out, so won’t be a total stranger, but his “official” last shift will be Friday 28th August, so do try to come and see him before then!

You’ll still be able to find him hosting the quiz for a few more weeks, but the last one with him at the mic will be Tuesday 15th September, where we will be joined by a very special guest.

Have no fear, as the pub will very much be staying the same; our wonderful managers, Manu and Manon, will officially be taking the helm – a new generation for our family business! And of course, you’ll still have the same gorgeous team serving you both front and back of house.

So join us in giving Josh all the love and thanks, and wish him all the best for his future endeavours (whatever they may be). I think we’ll probably need to start ordering in less rose wine from September onwards!
