I honestly don’t know how to write this…

The Tawny is closing.

This place wasn’t just a business to us — it was a dream. One we put everything into. Long days, sleepless nights, stress, sacrifice… we gave it more than we’ve ever given anything.

We truly believed in it.

But the truth is, it’s losing money — and not small amounts. Over £20,000 lost this summer alone, all from our own family savings. As much as it hurts to say it, we just can’t keep going like that.

I’ve pushed myself to the limit trying to make this work, but I’m done… properly done. Not because I don’t care — but because I care too much about my family to keep putting them through it.

What’s made it even harder is everything that comes with it — the complaints, the malicious reports… it wears you down. It turns something you love into something heavy.

But even with all of that, there’s so much I’ll never forget.

The packed nights.
The laughter.
The people who walked in as customers and left as friends.

You lot made this place special. You really did.

So let’s do it properly… one last time.

Final Night – Saturday 15th August
One big thank you. One proper send-off.
All drinks on special offer — and we go out together.

After that… that’s it. I’m done. No more pushing, no more fighting it.

From all of us — the staff, myself, Ella, Clara… and especially Becky, the person who made so much of this possible — thank you. You’ve been a huge part of this journey.

To everyone who supported us, backed us, believed in us — thank you. From the bottom of my heart.

And to those who tried to drag us down… you haven’t beaten us. This is our decision.

This chapter is closing, and it hurts more than I can put into words.

But this isn’t the end of me.
Paul the Publican isn’t done yet.

For now though…
The Tawny is.
