MEET THE BREWER: PHIPPS NBC
For National Cask Ale Week we're holding a special evening with the team from Phipps NBC on Thursday 17 September from 7:30pm.
And we’re not just talking about the beer…
We’ll be taking over two of our ale taps with Phipps beers, giving you the chance to try their beers while meeting the people behind them.
The evening will take us through the story of Phipps - from its beginnings in 1801, through its closure in the 1960s, to the revival of Phipps IPA in 2008 and the brewery as it stands today.
We’ll also get into the brewing itself: malt, hops, flavours, core beers and some of Phipps’ more recent craft recipes.
It’s a chance to have a chat with the team, ask questions, learn a bit about how the beers are made and, most importantly, drink some of them while you’re at it.
