This Saturday we welcome Meimaris’ new band creation Fizzy Wh**ky!

Fizzy Wh**ky is the musical project of Australian accordionist Jack Meimaris, featuring a mix of traditional and contemporary Irish and Scottish tunes. Expect fast jigs, reels and plenty of energy.

Originally from Brisbane, Australia, Jack recently moved to Oban after touring internationally with his award-winning trad/folk band Amaidí, performing at festivals including Cambridge Folk Festival and Festival Interceltique de Lorient.

Jack is teaming up with Glasgow-born guitarist Fraser Lundie, who has studied guitar under Paul McKenna and recorded with Mike McGoldrick.

Get ready for an exciting night of tunes!

We have a fantastic lineup: Oban’s own superb folk/country singer Lora MacLeod will be opening the evening, followed by the wonderful Stuart MacKintosh. Next up our very own Bruce MacGregor and Davy Holt take to the stage for some classic Scottish songs and tunes!

Then we top the evening with Norwegian sensation Berit Hapoldoy with band mates Lars Hammersland and Kai Taule!

Gordy Strathdee is playing tomorrow (Friday) 8:30pm!

A brilliant folk singer and musician, Gordy will be playing Scottish and Irish folk tunes and originals. A member of the folk/rock band Sons o the Soil, and a lifelong music veteran, we’re in for a great night!
