Ooshka Bar went on tour to Duror yesterday and hosted a wedding bar for Jenny and Bryce. A remarkable couple with a great community of family and friends who pitched in to make their day as special as possible. We enjoyed keeping the drinks flowing!

As ever the beer was supplied by and was a main feature of the night!

Honoured to host a private platinum tasting at for 2 lovely guests from the States. Featuring the very best whiskies we have found in Scotland and some of the very finest views in Argyll.

This tasting included:

2011 Single Cask

Always a pleasure visiting to host scotch whisky tastings featuring our favourite smaller independent producers! This event was to celebrate upcoming wedding nuptials the day after. Attendees were visiting from all over the United States.

We explored:

- What makes Scotch different to Bourbon
- Different cask maturations
- Why do we focus on smaller producers
- How best to enjoy whisky in a more palatable way

Whiskies included were:

North British 30YO Single Grain
- Spice Surprise
- Rock Island 14 YO Tequila Cask

A fun group activity was coming up with our own SMWS style description for the whisky, however this cannot be shared... 🤣

One of our favourite brands is the Distillery on the Morvern pen*sula on the West Coast of Scotland. The last 10 minutes of your journey is a gravel track with this very welcome message waiting at the top!

A beautiful clifftop location with a smaller, but incredibly lean operation at the distillery, eagles circle while you gaze over the water at the unchecked wilderness.

Organic processes and sustainability is at the very core of their brand, achieving one of the highest 'B Corp' ratings of any distillery in the world.

Each member of the distillery gets their own bottling for the retail market, that they build from the ground up, from their own passions and interests. There has been a wide variety from French red wine casks (Amy) to most recently, a whisky cream liqueur! (Sarah)

Not only whisky, they also offer fantastic "gin", which is officially a "botanical spirit" due to the whisky new make malted spirit that is uniquely used to make it.

2026 will continue our love affair with featuring on many of our tastings. One of the longest (and most unique) secondary maturation cycles in the business, with a keen focus on exports. This means that many of our international customers can actually find these drams to enjoy at home! Great West Coast representation, this Constantia Cask is unreal 🤤

A couple of warmer days here in Oban and we can't decide if Spring is coming at long last. The truth is we're not out of it yet! So best to bunker down and enjoy a wintery sherried dram this time of year. Amongst the best is the lovely Daftmill distillery, led by Francis Cuthbert. A farmer of grain first, purveyor of flavour second. If you haven't been lucky enough, we highly recommend it 🙏 ours is the 2011 Single Sherry Cask UK exclusive. Available on our Luxury Tasting package! 😝

Happy New Year from Oban!

We look forward to welcoming more of you to our whisky and gin experiences this year, it was a pleasure to meet our previous guests of 2025.

We are entering 2026 with new collaborations with beautiful local attractions and venues as well as travel trade partners to reach as many of you as possible.

With Scotland's spirits increasingly in the headlines, we want to cut through the noise with our unique small group tastings combating the myths and how best to navigate Scotch Whisky & Gin, with an exclusive focus on smaller independent producers.
