Today was all about the girls as our U11s headed to Middlewich Cricket Club to represent Davenham at the first Girls’ Festival. 🏏

There was some fantastic cricket on show from all the teams, with brilliant sportsmanship throughout and, most importantly, plenty of beaming smiles all day long.

A huge well done to all the girls for representing the club so brilliantly, and thank you to everyone involved in making it such a great day! 💙💛🏏

A huge well done to our U11s on a fantastic cup win against Aston last night! 🏏

We always knew it would be a tough test against strong opposition, and the game certainly lived up to expectations. Thankfully the weather held off despite the forecast, setting the stage for a brilliant, closely fought contest.

The atmosphere around the club was buzzing, with plenty of nervous moments and excitement right until the end.

Congratulations to everyone involved – now it’s onto the semi-finals! 💪🏏

Davenham Girls U11 Extend Winning Start to the Season

Davenham Cricket Club’s Girls Under‑11 team continued their impressive start to the 2026 season on Tuesday evening, securing their third consecutive victory, this time against Chester Boughton Hall.

The match also marked a milestone for the squad, as the girls proudly wore their new club shirts for the first time. Team Manager Mark Greaves praised both their attitude and development, saying:
“It’s great that the girls are playing in such a positive and fun way. Their energy and teamwork are fantastic to see.”

The club’s junior section benefited last season from generous sponsorship by Scan Global Logistics and Osprey Charging Network, enabling all teams up to Under‑15 level to be fully kitted out with team shirts.

Davenham CC is keen to welcome more girls into the sport. The U11s play soft ball cricket, and no previous experience is required. Any girls interested in giving cricket a try can contact Junior Coordinator Paul Parker on 07841 328494.

🏏 Davenham Cricket Club – Groundsman Wanted! 🏏

We're looking for a Groundsman to help look after our square and work alongside our fantastic team of volunteers who do such a great job maintaining the club's facilities.

Previous experience would be an advantage, but it's not essential. Training and support can be provided on the job, and former groundsmen are still available to offer guidance and advice when needed.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the future of the club and help keep our ground in top condition throughout the season.
