🍂 Autumn is here, and before we know it, Christmas will be with us!

Think crackling fires, cosy corners, festive drinks and great food shared with friends, family and colleagues. We’re delighted to share The Swan Inn’s Festive Menu for 2026, featuring traditional Christmas favourites alongside a few dishes with our own Swan twist. 🎄

🥧 A proper British pub classic at The Swan Inn, Newtown…

Our Steak & Tanglefoot Ale Pie is packed full of tender meat in a rich ale gravy, served with creamy mashed potato, Savoy cabbage and glazed carrots.

Yes, we make beautiful Caribbean food—but we never forget that the heart of our pub is British. And it doesn’t get much more classic than this. 🇬🇧

🔥 This is proper slow-cooked comfort food.

Our Beef Short Rib is braised overnight in Outland Stout with pimento, thyme and layers of Jamaican flavour until beautifully tender.

Served with delicious sautéed Jamaican cabbage, handmade sweet potato mash and rich gravy. A lot of love, care and time goes into every plate—and you can taste it in every deep, comforting layer of flavour. 🇯🇲

And don’t worry—our much-loved Fish & Chips and other great pub classics are still available too!

A smooth and juicy 4.5% New England IPA from Outland, packed with tropical fruit, stone-fruit and citrus flavours.

Perfect for a sunny afternoon in our beautiful garden. Come and enjoy a pint while it’s pouring! ☀️🌿

A little day trip to Camden today… but apparently I can never stop thinking about food at The Swan Inn (Newtown)! 😂

So naturally, a bit of “research” was required at Ma Petite Jamaica 🇯🇲 — and if you’re ever in North London, I can definitely recommend it.

Today I tried the Lobster & Crayfish Mac ’n’ Cheese Bites, Saltfish Fritters and a Jerk Platter with rice & peas. Absolutely delicious! 😋🔥

We already love our Jamaican flavours at The Swan Inn, Newtown, but I’m always looking for new ideas and little ways we can make our food even better.

Today’s inspiration? Jerk Gravy. 🌶️🇯🇲

I reckon that could be seriously good on our menu…

Now I just need to get back in The Swan kitchen and start experimenting! 👨‍🍳🔥

🦀🇯🇲 Jerk-Spiced Jamaican Crab Roll

A fresh Caribbean twist on a proper pub favourite.

Sweet crab mixed with creamy mayo and Jamaican jerk seasoning, loaded into a soft toasted roll and finished with fresh pea shoots.

Served with hand-cut sweet potato fries and our house slaw.
Creamy, sweet, gently spiced and packed with those unmistakable flavours of pimento, thyme and chilli. 🌶️

And with the sun shining, it’s made for a table in our beautiful garden. ☀️🌴

🇯🇲 A Proper Taste of Jamaica at The Swan Inn, Newtown 🔥

Our jerk chicken isn't rushed.

Every piece is marinated for a minimum of 24 hours in a traditional Jamaican blend of herbs and spices, including pimento, fresh thyme and Scotch bonnet, allowing those authentic Caribbean flavours to develop properly.

We then slowly smoke the chicken to create the rich, smoky flavour that makes real Jamaican jerk so special.

Served with rice & peas, fried plantain, fresh mango salsa and our homemade jerk barbecue dip, it's one of our most popular dishes for good reason.

Enjoy it in our beautiful riverside garden while the sun's out, or inside the cosy surroundings of the pub.
