Me, Trixter & Paul Av have gone out of our way to make these happen and we’ll be back one million percent. thing is it’s just a hobby for us its hard to get people out now especially when we’re Gateshead based and doing events in Newcastle.
We’ve had our DJ’s drop out a lot cos they aren’t getting drinks etc . I’ve told people before it isn’t a paid event it’s supposed to be a chance for friends to get together as opposed to a business opportunity.
Sometimes we do get big acts who are willing to come along and help us out.
You’ve got ppl like LYnn Nessa who will pay everyone out her own pocket to give you a chance to perform. She’s doing some ppl not the other way around. Some of you class her as a friend yet willing to take a few quid to fuel your own ego.
The only exception to this policy a when we get performers who should be getting paid. Off the top of my head, DI NRG, Selector C, Matty Owers, Makina Addicts, DJ Smurf, Mr DJ .Sorry if I’ve missed anyone out this is a quick post.
Having said that, because of the nature of the event and it’s hard to get people out we always kind of need to squeeze the lineup; hence the MC’s are always b2b. It’s not ideal I must admit but we struggle to get ppl out, so Steven is kind of right but unfortunately we ain’t got the time to give people 45 mins on their own because a lot of ppl are selfish and won’t come if there not on the lineup. To make these events work we need people to come along and listen to others and rotate the lineup but that doesn’t really happen.
I’ve heard through the grapevine there has been some dis-concern regarding MC’s and such. Well first of all it’s different strokes for different folks, I personally always enjoy the night and people having the chance to express themselves in front of a live audience. He is right that the MC’s should accompany the music but we give them 45 mins between then so knock ya’aelves out lads 🤣🤣
🎬 I’ve been running small non profit events since I was 15 in the Royal Oak and the little ship etc so I’m not some kind of idiot. Daz Effect from Ultimatebuzz used to come across Gateshead for a Hangar 13 warm up mint days 🤣🤣 Certainly don’t need security either, if you can’t handle your guests you shouldn’t be doing it.
Steven is the main promoter in the area and I’ve always respected that he has taken the time to along to come along (and even play!!) at our low key non profit events. Tbh he’s probably looking round thinking who here comes to my events . Support your local promoter. Lost Minds should have been sent back on the first train home🤣🤣
Anyway this post was meant to be about fro͞oˈiSHən and we’ll be back. Tbh me and Trixter would probably hold a rave in a fu**in phonebox as long as we can squeeze a sound system and a bar in there 🤣🤣
