WHQ is an Independent, multiracial Nightclub in Newcastle established since 1993. WHQ has an attitude free, girl-friendly, multi racial, block party vibe.

It’s kinda like a really good party in a comfy little secret house... We are truly independent, underground & aim to expose as much diverse music as possible. We spin all kinds of black music & also good records from all other genres too. What we do is a people thing & is a refreshingly credible & cosmopolitan alternative to the City's out-dated, corporate leisure group, stag party type groove. At

WHQ, the far out music we are into & the up for it, hands in the air, switched on crowd & communities who come, are the stars. We want everyone who comes here to feel truly uplifted by the music we play. We’re also ridiculous value & are basically half the price of other places & twice as good....
If you’ve never been before, you should give it a try, you’ll be amazed. We're very popular with tourists & visitors to the City, as one of our aims is to create a club in Newcastle that would work just as well in any other city in the world. Season 2 of Break The Loop is almost done! 🌍

Alongside course leaders .uk and .ee.nzy we saw the lack of diversity on line ups in the region, but also the lack of entry points for female & non binary DJ's to learn how to DJ on club standard equipment and take the leap to becoming a DJ.

The second 8 week season finishes with the season 2 showcase so those who have taken part in the course can show off their skills and mark the end of what's been such a great journey for everyone involved.

We'd love to see loads of you come and show support on 12th June for the next generation of female and non binary DJ's in the region. And if you're interested in joining the course in the future, this is the ideal time to come and speak to people running the course and people who have taken part.

throw their last party for the foreseeable today at the club 🌍

It's bittersweet as they've been throwing great parties in the club since the pandemic with headliners and always pushing local talent. But the realities are that throwing parties as an independent promoter is HARD.

We've loved having them in the venue, competing with touring UK brands and always bringing a loyal crew to the dancefloor.

Dance with them one last time from 6.30pm in the yard today, going through into the club until the early hours.
