Situated on the RSPB nature reserve, the Boathouse is a haven for nature watchers and food lovers alike. With magnificent views of the Dee Estuary it’s no surprise that Parkgate has a reputation as somewhere to eat whilst enjoying the beautiful British coastline. The extensive food menu features an array of dishes to suit all tastes including delicious burgers, classic mains and succulent grills, all freshly prepared on site.

Another exciting milestone in our refurbishment journey... 👀

As our refurbishment continues to take shape, we’re excited to announce two key appointments to our team!

Joining us as General Manager is Dale Tozer, who brings over 30 years of hospitality experience along with a real connection to the local area. Originally from New Zealand and now a long-time Heswall resident, Dale has managed some fantastic pubs across the region and knows exactly what great hospitality looks like.

Leading the kitchen will be Chris Bell, currently working at Hydes Brewery sister site, the Harry Beswick. Chris understands the quality food and warm service Boathouse guests know and love, and we can’t wait for him to bring that experience to Parkgate.

The building blocks are firmly in place and we’re getting more excited by the day about what’s to come. ❤️

Work is well underway on our exciting £1.5 million refurbishment and we’re thrilled to start sharing a few behind-the-scenes glimpses of the progress with you.

Over the coming months, the Boat House is being carefully transformed with a full interior refresh, a beautiful new outdoor trading area and a stunning upstairs terrace designed to make the most of our incredible views across the Dee Estuary.

Whilst we are modernising the space, great care is being taken to preserve the character and heritage of this much loved building, which dates back to around 1850.

We can’t wait to welcome you back in early June to enjoy the new look.

A fresh new look is on the horizon at the Boat House.

We’ll be closing for refurbishment from Monday 2nd March as we begin an exciting transformation. Our doors will reopen in early June and we can’t wait to welcome you back to experience the new look.
