This isn’t just steak.
This is grass-fed Devon beef, raised on South West pasture, prepped by Frankie and finished over open flame inside a UK National Park.
No gimmicks. Just fire and provenance.

From field to block, Mark’s seen it all.
Our founder Mark spent 25 years farming grass fed cattle in Devon and running his own butchery. He’s seen every stage of how an animal is raised, how it’s aged and prepared.

When he knew everything there was to know about exceptional meat, he had one idea, build a place worthy of it.

That’s the Dartmoor Inn, Merrivale. A restaurant conceived by someone who truly understands what’s on your plate, from the very beginning.

📍 Dartmoor Inn, Merrivale | Proper Devon, always.

Sizzling Scallops

Fresh scallops cooked over hot coals until beautifully charred, served sizzling from the grill with a melting lemon and dill butter. Simple, honest and utterly delicious.

The moor beneath your feet is doing more than you think.

Dartmoor’s peat bogs store thousands of years of carbon. They feed the rivers, slow the floods and filter the water flowing into Devon’s reservoirs. Asignificant proportion of the region’s drinking water begins right here.

Home to species found almost nowhere else. Sundew, sphagnum moss, hen harrier and merlin. Wildlife that has vanished from most of the UK but still exists on this moor because the bog remains intact.

Damage the peat and the carbon releases. Floods worsen, water becomes harder to clean and wildlife disappears.

Before the Dartmoor Inn, we farmed. Converted to organic, Planted 36,000 trees and restored hundreds of kilometres of hedgerow.

The environment has never been an afterthought. It is the reason we do what we do.

The moor outside this window is not just a view. It is something worth protecting.

Look after the land and the land looks after everything else.
