A Visit from the Young’s Dray Horses

On 20th June for the Lambs conduit street summer fait we are delighted to welcome the famous Young’s dray horses to The Lamb!

For generations, these magnificent horses have been at the heart of Young’s brewing heritage, harking back to a time when beer was delivered to London’s pubs by horse-drawn drays. While much has changed over the years, the dray horses remain a proud symbol of craftsmanship, tradition, and the enduring connection between brewery and pub.

Join us as these gentle giants make a special visit to The Lamb, offering a rare glimpse into a cherished part of London’s brewing history.

☀️ The Lambs Conduit Street Summer Fair returns Saturday the 20th of June!

One of our favourite days of the year is back, with the famous Waiters’ Race once again taking to the street, alongside local traders, food, drink, music, and plenty of community spirit.

If you’re looking for an excuse to spend a summer afternoon in Bloomsbury, pull up a chair, enjoy a pint, and take in all the festivities on Lambs Conduit Street.

We’ll be open throughout the day and would be delighted to welcome you to our freshly refurbished pub!

You may have heard whispers that we’ll soon be closing our doors for a little spruce up…

Before you panic - don’t. As a Grade II listed pub, everything that makes The Lamb The Lamb is here to stay. The ground floor you know and love isn’t going anywhere (we wouldn’t dare).

What we are doing is giving things a thoughtful refresh. Our garden is getting a well-earned spruce up, and upstairs, our first floor will become an extension of the pub—perfect for dining, drinks, and the odd private party or two (finally, a proper excuse to celebrate).

You may spot a little scaffolding going up around us soon, but it’s business as usual for now—we’ll be open and trading as normal until Monday 25th May, when we’ll close our doors for a short while, ready to welcome you back from mid-June.

It’s all part of making sure our historic pub continues to thrive for generations to come—same soul, just a little polish in the right places.

We’ll be back before you know it, and we can’t wait to welcome you in for the next chapter xx

Delighted to share the news that we’ve been awarded the top 3-star rating in the 2026 Food Made Good Awards by the Sustainable Restaurant Association, recognising our commitment to doing things properly. 🍃

From locally sourced, seasonal menus (think Oxfordshire-grown asparagus, Norfolk foraging, and responsibly sourced seafood) to reducing food waste, and raising over 300k for brilliant causes.
