After a stellar turn supporting Gerard Love and Finlay MacDonald’s wor_kspace at the Betsey last year, we’re delighted to welcome back Radhika this Sunday evening. She’s just released her debut album on Glass Modern Records and her band features Soup Dragons bass player Sushil K. Dade, original Franz Ferdinand drummer Paul Thomson and Finlay’s son Eric MacDonald. Support comes from Glass Modern label mates Stone Anthem. It’s going to be a top night of indie pop/dream pop. Hope to see you there!

Last call for Louis Brennan’s album launch at the Betsey.

Louis has just unleashed another LP upon the world. Come celebrate its birth with him and his band! Expect special guests and (miserable) vibes for days

London based Dubliner Louis Brennan is a singer-songwriter in the folk tradition. His folk however aren’t the field hands and travelling minstrels of yore but the repressed middle managers and ennui-ridden urbanites of late stage capitalism. They populate tales of bad s*x, half-drunk commutes and interpersonal claustrophobia delivered in Brennan’s cracked baritone, at times embarrassingly intimate, at times spuriously broad, peppered with pitch-black humour.

Brennan has performed in many guises on many stages and is known for a live show that takes the listener on a journey, turning the mirror from himself onto the audience, commanding dynamics as if conducting an orchestra not standing alone with an acoustic guitar.
