Lost Communications: An-Ting & Ian Gallagher + Lucian Fletcher + benjin
Explore light & darkness with three unique audiovisual works

Lost Communications is an audiovisual performance that explores the light and darkness in nature. An-Ting uses recordings of birdsong and underwater sounds and blends them with experimental electronic music, drone soundscapes, and intense beats. Ian Gallagher uses cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies to document the duo’s ideas and experiences, with live visuals that react in real-time to An-Ting’s music.
Lucian Fletcher is a Glasgow-based composer and producer. His music features electronic sound design with ambient, IDM, glitch and post-industrial influences. He also creates audiovisual work, live performance and compositions for contemporary theatre and dance.
benjin is a multi-instrumentalist, artist, curator, academic and storyteller who has toured and recorded with a number of experimental ensembles over the last 20 years. His solo work combines guitar, cello, harp, clarinet, vocals, nyckelharpa, field recordings and
found sounds. Drawing upon benjin’s experiences of a lifetime working on the waters of the UK, these compositions combine traditional folk song forms with dense free form jazz improvisations, minimalist classical music and sound collages. His music has been featured on BBC Radio 6 and Radio 3 and at the TATE and Serpentine Galleries.
Clara Helbig is an artist, filmmaker and curator whose practice navigates the entangled relationships between humans, animals and landscapes within the fragile logics of consumer capitalism.

Imagine, just imagine, if you had a place that could reconnect you back to yourself, to ignite the home fires of your creativity and wellbeing that could breathe life into the very core of you, so that you can take care of your own needs, as well as those around you & our planet.

Please join us to help keep the madman alive! Saturday 25 Oct 25 we are having the first all-dayer benefit gig to help cover the huge costs of Mike Spenser’s cancer treatment.

Top bands and DJs! Mike’s treasure trove of videos! Maybe even his toddler bathtub videos! The Cannibals, , Martin Savage & the Jiggerz, and RAW FUN, are already booked with more to be announced shortly.

Mike thinks £15 in advance is too much, we think it’s too little, so we’ll pass the hat too.

The coolest venue in London you don’t know yet, Folklore Hoxton is waiving their fee, video recording, and audio recording. Tickets in bio 🎫
From the man himself:

“Hey there — I’m a rock ‘n’ roll lifer, wild at heart and still kicking up noise in a genre we call trash. I’ve been howling, riffing, and smashing stages for decades, most infamously with The Cannibals — a band louder than a riot and dirtier than a dive bar floor.

I never lived by the rules, never wanted to. Life’s always been loud, messy, and totally out of the box — just the way I like it.
But now, life threw me a curveball I can’t just scream my way through: prostate cancer. I’ve been fighting it with the same fire I brought to every stage, but now I need help to keep up the battle.

The treatments are mounting up — and while I never asked for much in life, this is the time I gotta ask for something real.
Every pound, euro, or dollar you throw in is helping me keep living, creating, and causing mayhem — just like I always have. If you’ve ever danced in the front row, trashed a flat to one of our records, or believed in the spirit of raw, honest music — I’m asking you to back me now.

Let’s keep the amps buzzing.
Much trash love,
Mike Spenser

Dudu Kouate and Simon Sieger will perform a set of experimental, improvised music, drawing on a deep well of cultural exploration at Folklore, Hoxton on Wednesday 13th August…

Dudù Kouate combines pan-African traditional instruments and rhythms with cutting-edge experimental jazz. Dudù was born in Senegal in 1963 into a family of griots, the conservators of the African cultural and musical tradition. Member since 2017 of the historic Art Ensemble of Chicago, Dudù’s performances are famous for his array of 200+ instruments (many of which are manufactured by Dudù himself from recycled and upcycled materials) with which he journeys to the roots of the sounds of the earth - a journey he names the search for the ‘sound of elements’.

Simon Sieger is a multi-instrumentalist, arranger and composer. His field of activity ranges from barrelhouse boogie to Sun Ra reinterpretations to hard-hitting sweet noise. In his own words, “Music has no boundaries; anything can go anywhere, with the right attitude. That’s the way the world should be.” He has been heard playing stride piano at noise concerts and Turkish maqam in a blues band. Often called a “hunter-gatherer” by his peers, he has recently played with the Art Ensemble of Chicago, the Famoudou Don Moye Odyssey and Legacy Quintet.
