🌧️ BEULAH HILL WEATHER UPDATE 🌧️

It’s raining. Again. ☔😂

So we’ve decided there’s only one sensible response…

GIANT. LOADED. JACKET. POTATOES. 🥔🔥

That’s right — we’ve been busy adding some properly enormous, fully loaded jacket potatoes to the menu. The sort of food that makes you forget it’s miserable outside. 😋

Perfect for a rainy afternoon, a post-work pit stop or when you simply fancy something big, hot and comforting.

And naturally, they go rather nicely with a pint. 🍺

So leave the umbrella dripping by the door, bring the dog, grab a cosy corner and let us sort out the important stuff.

There’s a lot to be said for a good folk session in the pub.

You turn up with a fiddle, guitar, whistle or whatever else makes a pleasing noise, find a slightly wonky chair, order a pint and proceed to solve absolutely none of life’s problems. 🎻🍺

Instead, you play a few tunes, sing a few songs, listen to someone tell the same story they told last week, and discover that somehow three hours have disappeared.

There’s laughter, the occasional heroic attempt at a tune, the odd wrong note that everyone politely ignores, and a room full of people who are united by the important things in life: music, friendship and knowing exactly when the chorus comes in.

It may not be clinically proven to be good for the soul… but there’s a fair amount of anecdotal evidence, usually accompanied by a pint.

Come along. Your soul will thank you. Your liver may have reservations. 😂🎶🍻

There are rules at The Conq.

Nobody actually wrote them down… until now. 😂

1. There is always room for one more — and “just one” is not legally binding. 🍻

2. We love our four-legged customers, and they are very welcome to bring their hoomans — dogs should always stop at the bar hatch to receive a treat. 🐶🦴❤️

3. The pig hears ALL the gossip. Always be nice to the pig. 🐷👀

4. Being polite to our staff is MANDATORY. They’re the ones keeping the whole thing running (and Piggy Stardust always reports back to them). ❤️🍻

5. If you're hungry, you're probably in the right place. If you are thirsty, you definitely are… order at the bar please. 🍔🍻

6. Someone will eventually mention Palace. Optimism for the win should remain unreasonably high at all times. 🔴🔵

7. If you hear music… stay. If you can play… join in! 🎶🎻

8. If someone says “fancy another?” — the answer is most certainly YES. 🍻

9. Come in for a drink. Stay for the conversation. Leave with a story.

10. A Guinness should ALWAYS be ordered at the start of the round, never the end. 🍺☘️

And that's pretty much it.

No dress code.
No airs and graces.
No pretending to be something we're not.

❤️ A MASSIVE SHOUT OUT TO OUR CONQ TEAM! ❤️

Yesterday was BUSY. And we mean properly busy! 🍻🔥

The pub was absolutely buzzing, we had loads of walk-ins, tables turning, orders flying in and a kitchen that is, quite frankly, tiny compared to the amount of food that came through it! 😂🍽️

And yet… our team absolutely smashed it. 👏👏👏

Front of house keeping things moving, the kitchen working its magic, everyone pitching in, helping each other and keeping going when the pressure was well and truly ON.

Were we perfect? Probably not. Are we robots? Definitely not. 😂

But we got through a seriously busy day together, and we couldn't be prouder of everyone who worked their socks off to make it happen. ❤️

So today, we'd like to raise a glass to our brilliant Conq crew. 🍻

You did good. Really bloody good.

And to everyone who came in yesterday — thank you for your patience, your support, your lovely comments and for choosing to spend your Sunday with us. Piggy Stardust loves all the visitors who poke their heads over her pen to say hello too!

The Conq wouldn't be The Conq without you lot. ❤️🐷

☘️💃 A LITTLE BIT OF IRISH MAGIC RIGHT HERE ON OUR DOORSTEP! 💃☘️

We’re very proud to give a big shout-out to Conor Academy of Irish Dance! 🇮🇪❤️

And this one is a little bit special to us because our youngest Conquering Hero is actually one of their dancers! ☘️

We’ve seen first-hand just how much fun, talent and hard work goes into those little dancing feet — although we’re still not quite sure how they manage to move that fast! 😂👣

We’re big believers in supporting local businesses, local organisations and, most importantly, local young talent. And Conor Academy is a brilliant example of just that.

They give children and young people the chance to learn, make friends, build confidence, keep active and have a whole lot of fun along the way. ❤️

And of course, if you’ve ever been to one of our St Patrick’s Day celebrations, you’ll know that their dancers can certainly put on a show! ☘️🎶💃

¡Viva España!
As this World Cup draws to a close we congratulate Spain...we are still a little bruised but it's time to move on and enjoy the rest of the summer .
For us the absolute stars of this World Cup have been our AMAZING team you have worked incredibly hard in the heat and shifts that were outrageously busy. Manic bar shifts, getting drinks to thirsty customers as quickly as possible, shifts in the middle of the night, moving furniture to every possible view of a TV, installing extra TV's & making food in extreme heat to keep customers happy, stocking up early and finishing late. 100% Conquering Heroes!
Tournaments like this help to keep the lights on in small businesses like ours and the atmosphere for the England matches was truly electric so THANKYOU to our staff, to our friends & customers and of course to our (we still believe and we look forward to doing it all again)

Still, we'll be watching, still shouting at the TV, and still convincing ourselves that third is basically first... after the two teams in the final. 😂

Right then, it's not coming home just yet. But @ we are proud of our lads for getting to the semi finals. Sports at that level requires commitment, strength, discipline. We can all sit around pint in hand and be critics but this tournament has brought trade to businesses like ours up and down the country, brought families together, gave friends a purpose to laugh and cry about, allowed the off side rule to be taught to little kids and those new to football. There is something magical about England match day atmosphere. We have knighted Harry, named a train station after Jude and Big Dan Burn...well he's my new favourite...howay the Lads!
Get yourselves home Gentlemen and thankyou for representing your Country. You are welcome for a b**r anytime!
