It is always a delight to welcome a band to St harmonica’s for the first time and especially when they have been creating quite a stir on the scene. Elsie and the Rockettes is Elsie Franklin’s all-female, all-acoustic blues trio. Elsie plays country-blues and ragtime (a mixture of covers and fresh new originals) with a combination of fingerstyle and slide on her trusty steel National resonator guitar. Her style has been described as “steeped in history, yet utterly fresh”. When she is joined by Spanish blues drummer Roni Reeds and double-bassist Francesca Shaw the passion and energy on stage is infectious. The sound of traditional acoustic blues instruments (double bass, resonator guitar, brushes and washboard) combined with each of the girls' natural feel for the genre creates an indisputably authentic experience for their audiences.
The three of them are dear friends and share both an aptitude and love for early country blues that they pour into every performance. All three based in London, they are getting audiences dancing and (sometimes) laughing all over the UK.

Support comes in the highly accomplished and entertaining form of Simon Hindley on vocals and guitar joined by Little Paul on vocals and harmonica.

Support starts at 8.30pm followed by two sets from Elsie & the Rockettes starting just after 9.00pm.

Membership Cards are available on the door @ £10 for the year. You’ll need your monochrome 2026 membership card for free admission throughout 2026 to all Friday Blues evenings and Sunday Jam nights. We just ask for a contribution into the hat to go towards the musicians’ costs.

BEER BLUES & BBQ at the Black Barn
In case that isn’t enough for you then on Saturday 13th June our partnership with Livestock UK continues in the form of the annual, ever popular Beer, Blues & BBQ event at the Black Barn, Forty Hall Farm, Forty Hill, Enfield EN2 9HA. Doors, Beer and BBQ from 4.00pm and a fantastic line up kicking off at 5.00pm with a set from that outstanding duo Noel Gander with Gary Choules, ELRY Blue. The legendary Doc K’s Blues Band, fronted by Mad Dog Dave Barnes perform at 7.00pm and none other than the Sultan of Slide, Martin Fieber brings his band The Customtones to complete the evening from 9.00pm. Just to keep things rolling along, Potts will be performing his acoustic, festival material in between the band sets. Oh, and as it’s the Customtones the sun will shine on Saturday! Tickets are £8 or £15, hopefully still available on the door and in advance on the following link: https://www.livestockuk.com/ticket-office?src_ref=mailchimp&mc_cid=cef9ea50d1&mc_eid=4a27dd370b

See you all there!

Established in 2009 and growing out of now legendary street parties, the Livestock festival came into being to bring together talented bands from all over the country, local heroes, emerging talent and established artistes alike. The mission has always been to provide an outstanding community event,...

This might just be the best weekend of the year coming up as far as the local blues scene is concerned.

On Friday 12th June we welcome everybody’s favourites, The Blues Chapter, to St Harmonica’s Blues Club with two support acts in the form of Potts and That Blue Patch.,

It is a very big birthday for one of our members and benefactors, our good friend Mike Barrett who, to help the celebrations along, is putting a hugely generous £2k behind the bar for all members and friends to be able to celebrate with him and enjoy the evening. We’ll be doing our usual ‘hat’ collection to pay the musicians but, apart from that a remarkably good value evening with terrific music and of course, cake.

Potts will kick off proceedings at 8.30 pm followed by That Blue Patch at 9.00pm. The Blues Chapter will then take us home from 9.30pm and will doubtless leave us wanting more. Last chance to see the Blues Chapter locally until Broomfield Blues in August.
