Lo-fi bar with hi-fi intentions, hidden beneath the Narrow Way, Hackney Central. Behind This Wall is a relaxed basement bar with a warm, vintage sound-system.

Service is all-seated so bookings are highly recommended. The bar serves cocktails & mixed drinks built to taste; cold beer and select wines. There is no menu: guests can choose their own adventure. We will make you, or find you, your favourite drink. All our products and ingredients aim to exclude artificial additives, colours & flavours, high fructose, corn-syrup and unnecessary sugar. To accompany, we offer bar snacks and you can order a Yard Sale Pizza to site.

10 years ago today I opened up Behind This Wall on Mare Street.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of the space in such a meaningful way over the last decade. Whether you’ve worked with me for years, played some records or simply been in for a few drinks; each and every contribution has meant to world to me and kept a place like this going for a full 10!
