☀️ What’s happening this June at the Taproom!

We’ve got a busy month ahead of us… and we can’t wait!
🎨 kick the month off with mosaic coasters with Corin Brown (Weds 3rd) and have a double header portrait masterclass with Jonny Kemp (Sat 13th & Sun 14th).
🎭 are back with a Penge Festival Special (Thurs 18th). Two wonderful acts previewing their Edinburgh Shows. Just £3 to guarantee your seat, or free on the night!
🎵 it’s a busy week for live music in Penge at the end of the month. Our Open Mic (Weds 24th) hosted by kicks it off, always a friendly and supportive room. One of our favourite nights of the month!
🧠 Get those thinking caps on with Local Legend, Adam Craig for our monthly Taproom Quiz (Thurs 25th). Bookings are strongly recommended, just £1 per person with all proceeds going to .
🎤 Hopstock 2026 - Our Beer & Music Festival is back on Saturday 27th June on Royston Fields. It’s an event not to be missed, head to the website to book tickets.
✈️ Rounding the month off, Eileen Mahony returns to preview her fourth Edinburgh Show - In Pursuit, Upstairs at the Taproom (Mon 29th). Travel back through time with her. Tickets available via our website.

Plus we’ve got Penge History Group, , and Film Night.

👋 The Mini Taproom will be out and about at local events in Penge. Find us at the Opening Fete for Penge Festival (Sat 6th) on Royston Fields, and we’ll be at the Pride Picnic (Sat 13th) at Cator Park with .

🖼️ We’re also thrilled to be a stop on the Penge Art Trail again this year! Local artist, Tim Feltham will be exhibiting his artwork at the Taproom from Sat 20th to Sun 28th.

📣 LINE UP CHANGE

There’s been a change to the line up for today’s Southey Sessions.

Erica is unable to perform this afternoon. We’re incredibly grateful that Will Green has stepped in at short notice to fill her slot. Expect lyrical folk harmonies from one man and his guitar.

🎵 It’s going to be a wonderful day of live music at the Taproom. Pop on down to see wonderful local talent and a sneaky preview of what’s to come at Hopstock.

👋 We’re hiring!

Come and work for the friendliest Taproom in town! If you’ve got a passion for customer service, a love of craft beer, and working in a community focused venue. Then we’d love to hear from you.

🍻 The role will be working within the Taproom team, serving up some of the freshest, local products around both at the Taproom and at Summer Events.
Full training will be provided including all about our beers that are produced on site. We’re looking for a friendly face who will continue to help build and maintain our strong relationships within the community.

Experience is desired but not necessary. All training will be provided.

A part time position with the opportunity of more with events and cover. Weekend availability and a degree of flexibility is preferred.

📣 (re)introducing Hazy Jesus!

Our Fourth Beer from our Ten Beers for Ten Years project!

Most of you will know Hazy Jesus, a fan favourite if you will. But it hasn’t been on tap in a good while!

Another recipe from deep in the Southey archives - one of Sam’s recipes! He knew how great Lazy Jesus was and wondered what an amped up version would be like 🤔

The first version came in at a whopping 8.0% and tasted like fruit juice! Over the years the recipe has been adapted and changed (as has the ABV)….

🍺 Expect super hazy, super fruity, and super drinkable.

❗️Stock is super limited with only one keg going on tap. So be quick before it’s gone if you want to get your stamp!

📣 What’s happening this May at the Taproom.

The sun is shining down the alleyway and the beer is flowing 🍻

🎨 are back with two lovely art clubs this month. Learn to make a mini quilt with Terri (Weds 6th). On Sun 17th join Miko Coffey for some Abstract Mindful Drawing.
🥃 are hosting a brand led Whisky Tasting Session Upstairs with Nc’Nean Whisky on Thurs 14th. Join us for some serious drams.
❓ Local Legend Adam Craig is back with his Taproom Quiz on Thurs 14th. Grab some mates and a pint (or two) and test your generally specific knowledge. £1 per person with all proceeds going to .
🎭 will be with us (Thurs 21st) with a fantastic line up of comedians. £3 to reserve your seat or free on the night.
