Jazz is back at Drop on Wednesday 9th September. 🎶🍷

returns on piano for two sets of live jazz, that easy mix of music and good conversation we love hosting.

No tickets, no booking, just walk in from 7:30pm. Wine by the glass or bottle, full food menu, seats going fast as always.

It’s a regular date on the calendar too: live jazz on the second Wednesday of every month.

Autumn’s properly here now and you can feel the weather turning, so it’s the perfect excuse to settle in with a proper glass of red.

This is the season we look forward to, and we’ve pulled together three red wines that match the season.

Akrathos Assyrtiko 2022:
Hailing from the north of Greece, think intense stoniness meeting peach, lemon and a little power. Broad and delicious, this is a great introduction to Assyrtiko. Fresh yet textured, this is perfect for autumn days that can’t quite make their mind up.

Pivnica Čajkov Princess Skin Contact 2025:
Apricot tang and herb, soft with a tiny bit of lively funk behind it, this is a great introduction to Orange wine, without being dull! Slovenian wine that goes down very easily between friends…

Vincent Paris St Joseph 2023:
Floral, peppery, earth but with a lovely elegant core of dark berry fruit behind it. Perfect with or without food, or for sunny days that turn into denim jacket evenings as we move into autumn

We’ll be closed from 17th to 20th August while we take a short break.

Thank you so much for coming in this summer, it’s been such a joy to see you at the bar, whether you popped in for a quick glass or settled in for the evening. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without you.

Live jazz returns to Drop on 8th July, from 7:30pm, our monthly evening with a trio led by on piano. It’s a regular date on the calendar: the second Wednesday of every month, when the room fills with music, good conversation, and easy company.

Expect two sets over the course of the night, wrapping up around 9:30pm. No tickets, no booking… just walk in. Drop by for one glass or settle in for the whole night. Seats tend to go fast, so getting there early is worth it.

When the sun’s out, this is what you want on the table.

This weekend’s Plat du Weekend: Gazpacho.

Tomatoes, crisp cucumber, sweet peppers and a drizzle of good olive oil, blended until silky smooth and served cold, just as it should be.
