Liberty Tavern is a pub and wine bar following the legacy of the successful Hoptimist micro-pub. Offering a broader range of good value beers, ales, wines, spirits, prosecco and champagne, Liberty Tavern welcomes guests from everywhere, whilst our competitive pricing and community feel keeps locals in mind. Downstairs is a stylish yet rustic pub tavern, where the prohibition décor and proper pub atmosphere is a welcoming space to sup a beer and shoot the breeze: an old-world boozer with a Peaky Blinders feel. With four draught beers and four more guest ales, you’ll be spoiled for choice. Upstairs there is a cosy and refined wine bar, offering comfy seating and a snug and stylish space to while away an afternoon or evening over a good bottle of wine (or two!). The walls are gallery to local Oswestry artist Jon Young's creations: beautiful portraits and prints available for guests to buy. Liberty Tavern has a wide range of drinks to tempt every taste bud: Birra Moretti, Amstel, Heineken Cold and Amstel on draught; four local cask ales guesting on rotation, all from North Wales and the surrounding area; a good selection of wines sourced from Tanners in Oswestry; premium spirits available in addition to standard, and; we're even sourcing locally produced coffee. Liberty Tavern hopes to be at the heart of Llangollen life, and in the future aims to theme nights such as Flamenco Guitar and Peaky Blinders. Live music will be a regular feature as will 'meet the artist' events, and the wine bar has a function room that can be privately booked, or guests can book the entire upstairs for special occasions: outside catering can also be arranged.
