Well, you asked… and we listened!

We’re delighted to welcome Courage Directors back to the bar as our latest guest ale! ✨

A proper, traditional English ale, full of rich, malty character and that lovely smooth finish. Just the sort of pint made for settling into a cosy corner of the pub and putting the world to rights.

It went down such a storm last time that we simply had to bring it back.

Come on in and enjoy a pint of an old favourite! 🍻

What a lovely evening 🤎 Full of real community spirit, and laughter being heard down every street!

A huge thank you to 2nd Star to the Right, who pours so much love into these events right on our doorstep.

And our fancy dress winner… Keren Emms! An all out outfit, and a trooper by staying til the very end - still in costume! ✨🤎

The boring but important information for anyone attending the halloween trail....

★ Children MUST be supervised at all times. Children in your care are your responsibility throughout the trail around the village. The pub and myself take no responsibility for anything that happens whilst around the village.
★ If entering the pub children MUST be supervised .
★ The pub take cash and card however the trail entry is CASH ONLY.
★ If trick or treating remember NO decorations means NO trick or treating. Our village has a lot of vulnerable people, halloween is an anxious time for some so let's respect their decision to not participate.
★ It will be dark so please take extra care especially when crossing the roads. Most if not all the trail is lit by street lights but glowsticks, torches, high vis etc will make it easier in darker areas for drivers to see you making it safer for all.
★ Some of the prizes have small parts and can be choking hazards for very young children so it's down to parental supervision on receiving prizes to check.
★ Mixed sweet ingredients will be available to look at for any allergy concerns.
★ The trail queue will be in an active car park at the pub so please be mindful if you are driving to the event and parking at the pub as well as being aware in the queue itself.
★ Prizes are done by lucky dip once trail cards are handed in. To claim your prize you do not need to complete the cards (I understand weather and little legs sometimes means the whole trail can be daunting) as long as you hand back in the trail card you can claim a prize.
★ Despite what some people think I do not make a profit doing these trails I do so for the community and with just a couple volunteers; so please be patient and kind especially during busy times.

We’ve been fully booked for the past few weeks, and with it being half term, this Sunday is already looking very busy, with only limited spaces remaining!

We absolutely love seeing the pub full of familiar faces, families and friends enjoying a good old-fashioned Sunday roast together!

✨ We really can’t stress enough how important it is to book ahead! We’d hate for anyone to miss out or be disappointed on the day.

So if you’re planning on joining us this Sunday, please get your table booked sooner rather than later!

🎃🍻 HALLOWEEN AT THE HIGHWAYMAN! 🍻🎃

We’re getting into the spooky spirit here at The Highwayman, and we’ve got a cracking day and night planned for everyone! 👻

✨ First up, something for the little ones!

We’re teaming up with 2nd Star to the Right for a Kids’ Halloween Trail in the late afternoon/early evening! 🎃

More details to follow, so keep an eye on our page!

🍻 Then it’s time for the grown-ups to have some fun!

✨Disco from 9pm - plenty of music, dancing and a good old-fashioned pub night!

✨Fancy dress is optional, but there’ll be a £25 bar tab up for grabs for the best dressed! So dig out those costumes if you fancy your chances!

✨We’ll also have some exclusive spooky shots and Halloween cocktails available for the night!

Whether you’re popping in for a couple of drinks, bringing the family along earlier in the day or staying for a dance, we’d love to see you!

🤎 A Little Community Spirit This Friday! 🤎

This Friday lunchtime, we’ve got something rather lovely happening here at the pub!

A wonderful local lady and her sister will be joining us with a stall full of beautiful handcrafted goodies, all made with love. ✨

And the best bit? Every single penny raised will be going to support the lovely local family who were sadly affected by the house fire in our village earlier this year.

They’ll be setting up from 12:00, when we open, until everything is sold! So do pop in, have a browse and show them some support.

🍻 And if you’ve been looking for an excuse for a cheeky Friday lunchtime pint (or two), a nice bite to eat to warm your tummy as the storm rolls in, or simply a good old catch-up with friends… well, we can’t think of a better one!

A warm pub, good food, a little tipple, friendly faces and a chance to help one of our own. 🤎

That’s what village life and a proper local pub are all about.

🍂 Cosy Evenings & New Kitchen Hours 🍂

As the colder months draw in and the evenings get a little darker, we’re making a small change to our kitchen opening hours!

We’re keeping lunchtime just as it is, but bringing dinner forward a little so you can settle in earlier for a hearty meal, a warm welcome and a cosy evening at the pub.

🍴 Our Autumn & Winter Kitchen Hours

Lunch: 12:00 - 14:30 (unchanged)

Dinner: 17:00 - 20:00
