W**e of the week - Alice (1820), Artisans Partisans 🇫🇷

We are pouring this for £9 per 175ml

The woman on the label is the story here. This cuvée honours one of the first female w**e maker in the Languedoc, Alice. It’s made with Château Ollieux Romanis, a historic estate near Narbonne, where some of the w**e still comes from vines planted back in the 1800s.
An organic blend built around Syrah and Carignan, which are the classic grapes of the region.

Blueberry, plum and cherry on the nose, with violet and rose coming through.
Soft and generous on the palate, with red and dark fruits and a gentle peppery edge. Served slightly cool, it’s a perfect glass as the evenings draw in, pairing beautifully with a cheese and charcuterie platter. 🧀🍷

W**e of the week - Primitivo, “bocca della verita” Cantine de Falco 🇮🇹

We are pouring this for £9 per 175ml

Cantine de Falco was created 50 years ago in Novoli, a town just northwest of Lecce in the heart of Salento, Puglia. It is a family operation still run today by Gabriele and his father Salvatore de Falco.

The de Falcos have a deep understanding of their land and grape varieties. Everything is geared towards making quality w**e and the production mixes traditional know how with modern techniques to ensure that the same quality can be achieved across all levels.

This luscious and powerful w**e is ripe with plum, damson and black cherry fruit flavours that are wonderfully balanced with sweet spice notes, liquorice, mocha and coffee. The w**e is aged in oak barrel for eight months and then aged in bottle for a further eight months before release. It is incredibly welcoming with a long persistent finish.

Join us at Du Vin Bouchers to celebrate the arrival of this year’s beautiful Beaujolais Nouveau.🍷🇫🇷

A little history...
Beaujolais Nouveau began as a simple, fresh Gamay poured in the bistros of Lyon to toast the end of harvest.
In 1951 the first official release date was set, and since 1985 it has arrived on the third Thursday of November.
The famous “race” to get the first bottles to Paris and then London in the 1970s and 80s turned a local tradition into a worldwide celebration of the new vintage.
Despite the weather and recent heatwaves bringing historically low yields, Beaujolais Nouveau 2026 is shaping up to be a lovely vintage! 🍇
Our favourite, for good reason, is Domaine de la Couvette. It’s organically certified, hand harvested and made using traditional cold semi-carbonic maceration in concrete tanks with native yeasts and no shortcuts. This year the intense summer sun has given healthy vines and remarkable sugar concentration in the grapes.
We can’t wait to see you for what is shaping up to be an exciting event!

W**e of the week - Riesling, Lawson’s Dry Hills 🇳🇿

This w**e is yours for £9.50 per 175ml

Lawson’s Dry Hills Riesling is a single-vineyard white w**e produced from the Waihopai Valley block in Marlborough, New Zealand

Once picked in the cool of the early morning, the grapes are
gently pressed with only the free-run juice being fermented
to make this w**e. The juice is inoculated and fermented at
low temperature to retain the w**e natural bright
fruit aromatics.

This w**e is bright, fresh and aromatic showing lovely
lemon, lime, red apple and subtle floral notes. The palate is
crisp and just off-dry with lovely length and minerality.
