Quite a few of you have been asking us why the pub changed its name from The Black Swan to The Dante Arms.

Well, we thought it was time to share the story! 🐎

Let's face it, The Dante Arms is a much brighter and livelier place with our four-legged friends around. Don't you agree?

They're not just visitors, they're customers too! 🐶🐾

Whether they're curled up by the fire, snoozing under the tables or wagging their tails and saying hello to everyone who walks through the door, they're always welcome!

Just a reminder that from 1st November, we’ll be moving to our winter opening hours.

⚽ Sunday note: On Sundays when there is no match day, we’ll be closing at 5pm. If there’s a match on, we’ll be staying open so you can enjoy the game with us!

As the leaves start to fall and the nights get longer, we’re getting ourselves ready for the Yorkshire winter.

The fire is beginning to roar again, the cosy vibes are returning, and we’re busy in the kitchen putting together our winter menu. 🍽️

❤️ A Little Kindness Can Go a Long Way! ❤️

Over the past two weeks, we’ve had the privilege of welcoming a truly wonderful group of people with an absolutely amazing mission: The Community Driving School CIC.

As a not-for-profit organisation, they provide sponsored driving lessons and employability training to people who have experienced trauma or adversity, helping them gain independence, confidence, and new opportunities in life.

They support some of the most vulnerable people in our society, including survivors of sexual abuse, people experiencing homelessness, and ex-offenders. They also offer tailored driving training to individuals facing challenges such as anxiety, autism, and low self-confidence.

Because sometimes, getting behind the wheel is about so much more than learning to drive. It’s about finding confidence, opening doors, and having the chance to start again. ❤️

So, let’s help spread the word! 🙌

Fancy a little trip down memory lane? 🍻📸

We knew our beloved pub was old, but… THAT old?! 😲

Just look at this little beauty! Here’s a photograph of The Dante Arms from 1906, kindly shared with us by George R. Munday.

Some of you might recognise George, as he owned our lovely pub from 1991 until he sold it in 2001.

Just imagine all the stories these old walls could tell! Over a century of history, countless pints pulled, meals shared, and memories made. And here we are, adding our own little chapter to the story. ❤️

A huge thank you, George, for sharing this wonderful piece of our history and taking us on a trip down memory lane.
