Jet2 announces two exclusive new destinations from Leeds Bradford Airport for Summer 2027

UK consumer champion, Jet2, has today announced the launch of two stunning brand-new and exclusive destinations for Summer 2027 from Leeds Bradford Airport. The new additions give customers and independent travel agents even more choice when it comes to holidays in Greece.

The leading leisure airline and UK’s largest tour operator has responded to demand from holidaymakers looking to book ahead and enjoy a fantastic summer getaway by launching flights and holidays to Santorini and Preveza for the first time. Both routes are exclusive to Jet2 from the airport.

Today’s announcement comes in response to continued demand from holidaymakers looking to enjoy some much-needed sunshine and gives customers and independent travel agents across Yorkshire much more choice and flexibility.

The new routes announced today are as follows:

Preveza – weekly Sunday services operating from 23rd May to 10th October 2027.
Santorini – weekly Thursday services operating from 6th May to 7th October 2027.

The addition of flights and holidays to Santorini means that Jet2 customers in the region can access a picture-perfect destination which is on many people’s bucket lists. As well as soaking up the breathtaking views along the caldera, holidaymakers can see the world-famous sunset at Oia, enjoy the local vineyards, or take in one of a number of key archaeological sites, such as the ancient Akrotiri, a Minoan settlement preserved under volcanic ash.

With flights and holidays now available to Preveza, customers in Yorkshire can access the Epirus region, which offers holidaymakers everything from 60km of beautiful beaches to enchanting history and exciting nightlife. Linked to the Greek mainland by Greece’s first undersea tunnel, this charming region opens up sensational seaside destinations you see on picturesque postcards, including Parga, a coastal town surrounded by stunning islands and beaches, as well as Lefkas that includes traditional Greek resorts such as Nidri, Nikiana, Lygia and Agios Nikitas, and Meganisi.

The award-winning airline and tour operator’s Summer 2027 programme from Leeds Bradford Airport is the largest to date. It includes almost two million seats on sale in total and 53 routes including four brand-new routes, two of them (Preveza and Santorini) are exclusive to Jet2. In addition to the new destinations being announced today, Jet2 will also operate to Hurghada and Sharm El Sheik for the first time next year.

The UK’s largest tour operator and third largest airline have confirmed plans to operate as normal this summer, after receiving positive updates from fuel suppliers who have reported increased production and additional imports of jet fuel.

As well as leading the way for not cancelling flights and looking after customers, Jet2 was the first UK airline and tour operator to reassure customers that it will not introduce surcharges on any booked flights or holidays to cover cost increases, for example jet fuel. Put simply, the price at which customers book with Jet2 is the price they will pay. In an industry-leading move, Jet2 removed the surcharge provision across all flights and holidays, even though it has never been applied.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2, said: “We are seeing continued demand for our award-winning flights and holidays and many people wanting to book ahead for Summer 2027, so we are delighted to respond with this expanded programme from Leeds Bradford Airport. With two stunning, brand-new routes being announced today, our Summer 2027 programme gives holidaymakers exactly what they want – more choice and flexibility. We look forward to taking customers on their well-deserved holidays and showcasing our award-winning customer service to them as they head off to these new destinations.”

Declan Maguire, Aviation Director at Leeds Bradford Airport, added: “Expanding our route network with Jet2 to include Preveza and Santorini for Summer 2027 gives Yorkshire even more choice when planning the perfect getaway. From the scenic coastline of Preveza to the iconic appeal of Santorini, these additions bring something new and exciting to Leeds Bradford Airport’s portfolio. Variety really is the spice of life, and this network development is all about giving Yorkshire greater choice, flexibility and inspiration for their next trip.”

Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) did not breach night flights limit during 2023, 2024 or 2025.

Leeds City Council has ruled 941 extra night flights per year into LBA by quieter aircraft types are lawful. They have not agreed to unlimited night-time flights.

The airport’s application for a Certificate of Lawfulness of Existing Use or Development (CLEUD) was approved by the city council.
The decision was based on UK planning law and after an assessment of the airport's flight records over a 10-year period. The figure of 941 is in line with the number previously operated by the airport over a 10-year period.

The ruling allows for an additional 941 extra night-time flights operated by newer quieter aircraft types that have a noise level of 87 dB or less like the Boeing 737-MAX, Airbus NEO and Embraer E2’s.
These aircraft are currently operated into LBA by airlines including easyJet, Ryanair,Wizz Air, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, SunExpress & TUI

The newly confirmed 941 movements are in addition to the existing limits on night‑time flights at the airport which were established in a 2007 planning permission and are capped at 2,800 movements Summer season and 1,200 during the Winter season. Any additional night-time movements above those figures will still count towards the cap.

LEEDS BRADFORD AIRPORT WELCOMES POSITIVE CLEUD DECISION, CONFIRMING COMPLIANCE WITH NIGHT FLIGHT CONDITIONS

Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) welcomes the positive outcome regarding its application for a Certificate of Lawfulness of Existing Use or Development (CLEUD) in relation the operation of night flights at LBA. The decision is a positive step forward, providing increased clarity on the airport’s operation. Importantly, the decision also confirms that LBA did not breach the movement limits governing night flights during the 2023, 2024, and 2025 periods. This outcome validates the airport’s rigorous internal monitoring systems and its commitment to operating within the framework of its established planning conditions.

A spokesperson for Leeds Bradford Airport said:

"We are pleased with the decision by Leeds City Council, which confirms our long-held position that LBA has operated responsibly and in full compliance with night flight regulations over the last three years. This decision provides much-needed certainty for our partners, our passengers, and the local community.

LBA remains committed to being a responsible neighbour while continuing to serve as a vital economic gateway for the region. We look forward to continuing our constructive work with Leeds City Council to develop a sustainable long-term framework for flights that balances the region’s connectivity needs with our environmental and local commitments."

As part of its Together for Tomorrow strategy, LBA continues to work with airlines to deploy the latest generation of quieter, more fuel-efficient aircraft as part of its ongoing effort to modernise operations and reduce the noise footprint of its flight schedule.

New Six Eight One Lounge - Designated Quiet Area

Starting from the 1st of April our Six Eight One lounge will be open to everyone, including families!

We've had a lot of positive feedback about the change but we have also had some questions and comments, the main one being from people who like to have the lounge as an adult only experience. We want to reassure you that whilst the Six Eight One lounge will be open to families, we will have a dedicated quiet area for those who prefer to be away from children.

Some common questions answered:
- The quiet area is completely separate from the main lounge, there is a door between the two areas which means those who want the quiet lounge experience can have it.
- Passengers in the main part of the lounge and the designated quiet area will have access to the same exclusive menu and full bar options.
- We're installing more charging points across the lounge to make it even easier for business travellers to use.
- In order to keep the quiet area as peaceful as possible the buffet will remain in the main area of the lounge, passengers in the quiet area are free to move between the areas as they wish. This means the quiet area remains quiet and not disturbed by staff restocking food or other passengers passing through to get food.

If you would like to be in our quiet area please speak to our lounge team when you arrive and they will accommodate you as best they can.

We're really excited about our new lounge updates and we look forward to welcoming you soon!
