A little piece of family history has found its new home at The Auld Store.

Over 30 years ago, this painting was created by a student at Glasgow School of Art. My uncle purchased it, along with another painting, for my gran.

It captures a lovely old tavern scene, with a barmaid serving a few merry guests and a wee dog looking deep in thought! 🐾🍻💭

After spending years tucked away with nowhere quite right to hang, it seems only fitting that it’s finally found its place on the wall of a village pub, where it can be enjoyed once again.

I think my gran would have loved that.

What do you think?

Part-time work: Still looking for experienced bar staff to cover a few shifts ongoing Wednesday and Thursday plus occasional other days if available. Please message if you have availability.

Warning ‼️ potentially boring post. 😆 Today we are starting to see progress.

Met some more locals today, got more bits fixed, Inserve were out looking over the draft lines and the highlight of deliveries today 🤣 was 25 bulbs that arrived.

Kept the same style but these will burn 5w each so total 125watts instead of a whopping 1500watts total.

We have done a lot of work already ( we as in us & tradespeople) and still alot to do, maybe on the surface it might look like we did nothing though 🤣 …have replaced most of the chairs, in the process of a deep clean, upgraded fuse box, made electrics safe, added working smoke detectors, heat detectors, CO detectors for gas and open fire, additional detectors for cellar. Set up supplier accounts for cellar gas, alcohol, bins, food etc.. booked in chimney sweep, new optics for bar installed, Still to have the roof work done, set up till system, print menus, change all the light bulbs, get Coca Cola line installed, cellar maintenance and much more but making progress. 😆 Oh and most importantly our huge Tennants order! 🍺

Found this pair when clearing out, they have been waiting too long for the Auld store to reopen 😆

Before order there is always chaos 🤣Binning and clearing out before we start cleaning tomorrow.

I’ve lost some details of people interested in work. If we haven’t arranged to meet tomorrow or next week, please can you message me again. Thank you ☺️
