With its ever popular live music weekends to real ales, the John provides that 'real' pub atmosphere. Gaining its first license in 1871 the John has seen many generations of people walk through its doors (and crawl back out), and has gone from strength to stren

gth. From live music all weekend, every midweek night, to open mic on a Sunday and monday, the pub is always full of life. Encouraging the local up and coming talent to well established world wide groups, it's had it all. Why not step back in history and visit one of Lancaster's oldest pubs.

There’s something special about Sundays here at Ye Olde John O’Gaunt… good people, great music and a proper laid-back atmosphere. ❤️

From 1pm, the brilliant Shelly Kane takes to the stage with an afternoon of live music, joined by a few talented friends along the way.

Then from 4pm, it’s time for our Sunday Open Mic. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or just fancy giving it a go, grab a spot, play a few tunes and enjoy being part of a cracking afternoon of live music.

So if live music is your thing, pull up a chair, grab a drink and spend your Sunday with us.
