What a way to round off our Chef Series for the year!

We were delighted to welcome Roberta Hall, one of Scotland’s best chefs for an evening celebrating the flavours of Scotland. From Orkney scallop with Arbroath tartare sauce to Dundas Estate venison with beetroot, quince and haggis rarebit, it was a menu packed with standout dishes.

It was brilliant to see so many familiar faces alongside plenty of new ones, all coming together to make our final Chef Series of the year such a memorable evening.

Game season is a huge part of our rural Yorkshire community, and this dish is a real celebration of the season.

Roast partridge breast with a partridge and quince sauce, pancetta and elderberries, served with creamy spelt and a plethora of seasonal fodder including hispi cabbage, baby turnips and kale.

Steak lovers, our November steak night special is here, and it's all abut the flat iron this month, served with a roasted garlic and thyme hollandaise, b**r-braised onions and fries. All yours for £29.50.

As the great philosopher Plato once said: “Every fine pub has a fine quiz.” Actually, don’t quote us on that one 👀

Luckily, we’ve still got a proper Quiz Master running proceedings, the kind of person we’ve personally witnessed referee an orange squash chugging tie-breaker, so you know you’re in safe hands.

Our feel-good pub quiz continues on the second Tuesday of the month, with plenty of friendly competition and a £50 bar tab up for grabs.

A couple of days left for this beautiful beef featherblade on the specials board. It's served with confit garlic mash and a rich bourguignon sauce, with a few pickled shallots in there to cut through the richness.
