Introducing this weekend’s Plat du Weekend: Croque Monsieur.

A French classic done simply and done well. Layers of delicate ham and melted cheese, toasted until golden, served alongside a fresh garden salad for balance.

Rich, comforting, and perfectly crisp at the edges, it’s the kind of dish made for slow weekends, good wine, and even better conversation.

Available for a limited time as part of our Plat du Weekend series, with a new special every two weeks.

At Drop Kensington, it starts with the details. Norcellara olives and Marcona almonds to open the palate, a glass of red on the table, and then the boards begin to arrive.

Our cheese and crackers selection comes with chutney and crunch, from creamy Brie Dongé and tangy Cropwell Stilton to nutty Montgomery Cheddar and delicate Tomme de Chèvre, all made for slicing, spreading, and coming back for “just one more piece”.

Alongside it, our charcuterie board, with meats sliced to order in house by the Drop team, served freshly sliced and full of character. Think Finocchiona, Coppa and Jesus Saucisson Basque, finished simply with cornichons and nothing overworked.

Introducing this weekend’s Plat du Weekend: Panzanella Tuscan Salad.

Born from the countryside kitchens of Tuscany, this much-loved Italian classic brings together juicy tomatoes, crisp cucumber, fresh basil, red onion, and chunks of rustic bread that soak up every drop of the vibrant dressing.

Light enough for a sunny afternoon, satisfying enough to linger over with a glass of wine, it’s the kind of dish that captures everything we love about relaxed dining.

Joining us from the southern Rhône is Marie Giraud, whose wines come from Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a region celebrated for diversity of style.

From the Loire Valley, Clotilde Legrand brings the refined, vibrant character of Saumur-Champigny, where freshness and terroir take centre stage.

While their regions couldn’t be more different, both winemakers are united by a hands-on approach in the cellar and a considered, sustainable philosophy in the vineyard.

The tasting will be relaxed and seated, with wines poured side by side to explore contrast, personality, and place. Expect plenty of insight, open conversation, and a laid-back way to experience two expressions of French wine.

A neighbourhood wine bar in Kensington, built around ever changing wines and a strong local following, where we’re inviting you to join us for a special evening welcoming two winemakers from France for an in person tasting and takeover.

Marie Giraud joins us from Châteauneuf du Pape in the South of France, while Clotilde Legrand joins us from Saumur Champigny in the Loire Valley, both producing wines shaped by experience and a clear sense of style.

We’re welcoming two winemakers from France for a special evening of wine at Drop Kensington.

Marie Giraud joins us from Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the South of France, a region known for depth and varied styles. Clotilde Legrand joins from Saumur-Champigny in the Loire Valley, a historic region defined by elegance, freshness, and a strong sense of place.

Although the regions are very different, both producers share a focus on quality in the winery and a thoughtful, sustainable approach in the vineyard. The evening will be informal and seated, with wines poured side by side to highlight contrast and character. Boeuf Bourguignon. Slow cooked, rich and full of depth, with tender beef and a sauce made for cooler evenings and a good glass of red. Available this Friday, Saturday and Sunday for £18.

Something worth gathering around.

Three beautifully cured meats, layered across the plate and ready to share. Finocchiona with soft fennel spice.

Bonnet Saucisson Basque, rich and buttery. Coppa sliced delicate and silky.

Cornichons in the centre for that sharp little contrast. A glass of red nearby. Exactly as it should be.
