This Saturday, I’m heading back to Derbyshire for a special Micropub Adventures day out, celebrating my upcoming 40th birthday with a trip around the independent pubs, micropubs and breweries of Ilkeston and Heanor!
Joining me for the day will be Neil from Neil’s Real Ale & Pub Page, Niall from From Sheffield With Pubs, and my friend Wendy. It should be a great day catching up, enjoying a few birthday drinks and exploring some cracking pubs along the way!

It’s a fantastic selection of independent places, mixing some old favourites with a few we’ll be exploring for the first time. Not a bad way to celebrate turning 40!
As always, I’ll be taking plenty of photographs, discovering more about the buildings and their histories, and putting together a full write-up of our adventures afterwards.
