You may have noticed a higher than usual number of poorly spelt insults on my personal and Scotty's Bar page in recent days. I have not met this insane woman Terri Lawton, AKA Cosyhomes, AKA Style Stash Horbury... but she seems a little obsessed with me 🤪 (and my mum) I have had to make a complaint of harassment to the police and supplied 38 screenshots of her strange comments!

I wouldn’t normal respond to vindictive posts but I feel I need to defend my name…

The accusations of bullying and burglary from COSYHOMES SCISSETT are outrageous!

I haven’t even spoken to these awful people since they dumped tons of rubbish in the wood off Bagden Lane 😡

I contacted the police and there is no investigation into myself or my business… I do however have “a good case for harassment”.

For those that don’t already know… I am standing for the Green Party, Denby Dale Ward on 7th May.

A lot of people will already know me from either Scotty’s Bar in Scissett or the positive work I have done throughout our community over the years but for those that don’t… I’m a local lad living most of my 54 years in Kirkburton and Denby Dale Wards with the best of my younger years serving overseas with HM Forces.

It has taken me a while to write this as I’ve struggled to come up with something original to say and after reading endless posts and leaflets from prospective and existing councillors all claiming the same things (although not achieving them previously) to repeat these promises feels a little disingenuous so I will only promise to try to make the improvements that we all want.

I am not and never will be a career politician but I have fought Kirklees Council for years attempting to make improvements in our community and standing as your councillor may be the only way to effect real change.

I am a hands on, lead from the front kind of person and happy to repair and rebuild myself not just report back to an ineffectual council. I intend to start a regeneration project throughout the ward so we can once again be proud of where we live.
I need your vote so I can work for you!

*** To keep everyone informed***

As you may already know… Nortonthorpe Sports Club trustees approached me wanting to make better use of the bar and facilities.
I know a lot of people have been unhappy about access to this community property and it would have been an opportunity to change that for the better.
I worked on a proposal with trustees before offering to make a financial investment, improve the bar and of course its opening hours.
Unfortunately the committee have decided the club is not ready for this change or commitment at this time 😞

I am however still looking for the ideal property for Scotty’s Bar and will keep you informed 😉
