We’re cracking on and getting things done.

Tiles have started going down in the ladies 🚽
The fireplace is coming together (despite the wrong log burner being delivered 👀) 🔥
The kitchen fitting is booked in 🧑‍🍳
Toilets and sinks are being fitted next week, the plastering is almost finished, the paneling and bar has been made off site and is almost ready to be installed.

It’s all coming together (although it may not look like it!)

It’s a big update now we are into June things are really moving!

We’ve been busy behind the scenes cracking on with everything ready to open the doors here! We’re so excited for it to start looking like a pub again in the not too distant future.

🔥 Harry went on the hunt for some old bricks and found these beautiful 300 year old boston bricks! We are confident they will bring some old into the newer parts of the building alongside some beautiful York stone for the Hearth!

Plastering has begun across the site and it’s looking so much better already!

🪟 The windows that had been blocked up have been reinstated bringing much more natural light into the bar. Definitely a good call!

The old white PVC door that had been used as the main entrance has now been replaced with a French door.

As we’re working through the plastering we’re slowly starting to be able to get some paint on the walls. First mist coat to go on was the ladies toilet! Now ready to paint and hopefully tile by early next week!

The floor in the men’s toilets is being dug out for Harry’s special urinals! Slightly trickier job than we initially thought.

Your weekly update …

It’s not necessarily a ‘pretty’ update but it’s an update nonetheless and we are still chipping away towards our opening date.

1. The stud walls are up in the toilets, they’re ready for first fix and plastering and the toilets etc have been ordered.
2. The stud work for the cold room is up and the insulation is all on order. We looked at ready built units but building it ourselves was far far far more affordable.
3. We’ve pulled the old patio up - ready for a bit of a rearrange. The gardens not going to be complete for this summer but we hope to get phase one done, to create a nice area to enjoy the outside space.
4. We’ve had a new gas tank installed in a different location.
5. We’ve recruited an incredible head chef and we’re excited to get the ball rolling behind the scene with menus etc!
