Morning EHMC Followers!
As there's still quite a few of you, some since our beginnings in 2018, I thought I'd start sending out little updates on what's happening with the Club. It has turned out quite long, so if you're going to stick with it, you'd better get a cuppa & a biscuit. Apologies in advance.
Please keep supporting the Club & get along to the gigs if you can. Oh yeah, and recommend the Club to your friends. Better still, drag them along to a gig 😉
The Revenant & Dusk Brothers live at Echo Hotel Music Club gig last Saturday was a lot of fun for everyone. Both Revenant & Dusk Brothers were on fire musically & the onstage chemistry & banter was off the scale. We'll have to have them back again in the future.
My main focus over the next 4 weeks is to get the word out & sell tickets for the Florence Sommerville Live at Echo Hotel Music Club gig on 14th November (where has the year gone?). Consequently, I'm trying to get my head round Instagram & how to use it to extend our reach with grassroots gig go-ers. It works in a different way to FB &, being a bit of a dinosaur, I am getting some help from the younger generation from Sian & Nerys, who use it all the time. Bear with me! You may see some odd posts to begin with 😂
So, Florence Sommerville is returning to the Club on 14th November. As a solo act, she supported Phil Ashmore & his band at the Country Rocks on a hot & steamy night last July. She really is a special talent (Country Artist of the year 2025 & Country Album of the year 2026) and everyone who saw her that night went away raving about how good she is! She is coming back to headline with her full band of top musicians this time. Supporting her will be a solo Shea Rafferty who has an impressive CV in his own right & has worked with many big names in the past. So, another good night is in store for all you Americana afficionados.
I'll add some links here so you can check them out if they are new to you.

Other stuff: As we're approaching the exciting festive period, followed by the recovery in January, we've booked 6 February as the first gig of 2027: Burning Rope & Flint Moore (see events Tab for ticket link). I haven't formally announced it yet (although tickets, including Early Bird discounts, are available: Password is RAVEN!) because the emphasis is on maximising ticket sales for Florence at the moment.
Burning Rope need little introduction having been born out of the popular Blues Rock band, Catfish following the sad passing of phenomenal Front Man, Matthew Long. Matt was always going to be irreplaceable (his voice, his virtuoso guitar & his all round humanity), so the band morphed/evolved into a new identity going in a slightly different musical direction. They call it Progressive Blues, and there's is very definitely some Prog Rock influences in there, but it's just really good creative & melodic Rock Music. Always in demand, Burning Rope have been taking the Festival & Club scene by storm & have an army of loyal supporters.

Flint Moore were a band I first saw (how have I missed them) at a Festival this Summer & to say they blew me away is an understatement. You are going to love them! They played a Prog Rock Festival in London recently (I was there) and despite being largely unknown to the crowd, they got a standing ovation! However, they defy genre pigeonholing. They say the closest label would be Dark Rock, but that doesn't quite describe the quality of the music nor the emotional response you get from listening to their songs. Songs that explore the rollercoaster of human existence, but ultimately the message is of Hope, despite it all. They are not to be missed!

Me & friends are off to see them again in Guildford, Star Inn, this weekend...just because they are soooo good live.
Apologies if this has been a bit long. Maybe I should do a Newsletter? What do you think?
