We’re in full swing at the Hockwold Village Fête! 🍻🎪

Come and find The Red Lion crew, grab a cold pint and have a wander around to support all the brilliant people, stalls and attractions putting today on for the village. We’ve got Carlsberg, Rattler & Peach Pilfer on draught, plus plenty of soft drinks and a few other bits behind the bar.

If you’re getting hungry, our limited fête menu is running at the pub from 12–2pm, just a couple of minutes’ walk away — and the pub itself is open all day if we haven’t got what you fancy here.

Just a heads up for Hockwold Village Fête tomorrow! 🎉

We’ll be down at the fête from 10am–4pm supporting the brilliant team who’ve worked so hard to put the day together — come over, grab a drink and say hello! 🍻

Back at the pub, our kitchen will be walk-ins only with a limited menu from 12–2pm, including bar baskets, burgers and fish & chips for anyone after a quick bite. We’re only just down the road!

Can’t wait to see the village out in force and have a proper catch-up with everyone. ❤️🦁

Our 4th Annual Taste of Oktoberfest is almost here! 🍺🇩🇪

From Tuesday 22nd September until Saturday 3rd October, The Red Lion is bringing back nearly two weeks of German b**r, steins, schnapps and proper Oktoberfest comfort food!

Tuesdays are drinks only, as per our usual opening hours, with food available Wednesday–Saturday.

We’re kicking things off with the return of our hugely popular Oktoberfest Carvery on:

❄️🔥 BIG UPGRADE AT THE RED LION! 🔥❄️

Massive thanks to Dane and the team at DJD for getting our new Samsung climate control systems installed and running — even better, they’re a Hockwold business, so we’re chuffed to keep it local. 👏

And a big shoutout as well to our mate Tom Banham at Positive Electric, who handled the electrical side of the install along with a load of other jobs for us today. Absolute legend. ⚡️🙌

So now we’re officially ready for whatever the British weather decides to throw at us:

☀️ Ridiculous summer heat — sorted.
🔥 Cold winter evenings — sorted.
🍻 Busy pub getting a little too cosy — sorted.

Of course the weather turned the second they were installed 😂 but this is a proper year-round upgrade for the pub and one we’ve wanted for a long time.
