🥩 THURSDAY STEAK NIGHT AT THE DUKE

Every Thursday evening from 6pm, we serve our Steak Night menu at The Duke — centred around carefully sourced, beautifully aged British beef and classic accompaniments, with the option to add something from the sea.

Our steaks are 28-day dry-aged, grass-fed beef, expertly sourced from Downland Produce (Downland Produce) and cooked to your preference. Each steak is served with roasted tomato and flat mushroom.

Choose from:
Bavette Platter | Tomahawk | Fillet | Sirloin

Alongside your steak, choose two sides from fries, new potatoes, peas & pancetta, coleslaw or a dressed side salad.

To finish, choose from 10+ homemade sauces, prepared in-house to complement the beef.

For those wanting something a little more indulgent, our surf & turf additions include:
Garlic butter king prawns, Caviar, Scallops, Half lobster, Whole lobster.

Non so classic… but very much us. 🇮🇹🇯🇵

We love fusion food. In fact, most of our dishes are proudly inspired by European and Asian ingredients, techniques and flavours.

Here’s a “non so classic” example of how we like to mess with tradition and give it our own twist.

Our Italian chef is preparing our Miso Carbonara — a traditional-style Carbonara made with egg tagliolini, egg yolks and pecorino, finished with crispy smoked pancetta (and sometimes guanciale too).

Then we add a little Japanese magic: miso paste for that extra hit of umami, before garnishing with lightly cured egg yolk, toasted sesame seeds, garlic chives and Japanese seven spices (Shichimi togarashi).

We know… we know.
This is going to be controversial. 😂

But when an Italian is the one messing around with pasta, we reckon that makes it allowed.
And remember, No cream on this one!

The ROSE Awards — Recognition Of Service Excellence — celebrate the people and businesses across England who go that little bit further to create a warm welcome and memorable experiences for their guests. There are only the top 100 business across the thousand the Visit England inspected this year.

To be recognised in this way means a great deal to our small, independent business at The Duke Hotel & Duchess Lounge, Hilmarton.
We were the only pub/restaurant with rooms who won this award and the only one in Wiltshire.

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful team, whose hard work, care and dedication make everything we do possible, and to every guest who has visited us, supported us, shared kind words and allowed us to be part of their special moments.

We are only a small part of a wonderful village and community, and we are incredibly grateful to be here.
