Munich in 20 seconds 🍺🇩🇪

We landed in Munich and headed straight to Augustiner Keller — where a manager ended up giving us a free taste of their Maibock and even let us keep the glasses.

From there we wandered through the old town, b**r halls and food markets, eating sausages, pretzels and sauerkraut for breakfast with a Radler in hand.

And honestly?
What stands out most in Munich isn’t just the b**r.

It’s the atmosphere.

Busy b**r halls full of conversation.
People sitting together for hours.
B**r treated as part of everyday life rather than something rushed.

No gimmicks.
Just proper b**r culture done properly.

Halloween Saturday. B**r festival, day three.

Blood Moon is on. A deep red 5.5% IPA from Brew York and Abbeydale. Small batch, only 18 barrels made, and we’ve got some, on Halloween.

16 b**rs pouring and a handful have already gone. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. Pints from £4.80.

I expected Kölsch to taste like a standard lager… I was completely wrong 🍺🇩🇪

Smooth, floral, lightly hoppy and ridiculously drinkable.

In Cologne they serve it fresh, cold and fast — often from large casks behind the bar — and honestly, the more German b**r culture I experience, the more similarities I see with proper British pub culture.

Simple b**r.
Served properly.
In pubs built around conversation and atmosphere.
