Loaded fries… because ordinary fries just won’t cut it! 🍟

On today’s specials board at The Shoes, we’ve got Chilli Loaded Fries, and they’re not for small appetites!

A generous portion of crispy fries piled high with your choice of beef chilli or vegetable & bean chilli, topped with American cheese, jalapeños, black olives, diced tomato, crispy fried onions and a dollop of crème fraîche.

Messy? Probably. Delicious? Absolutely!

A fantastic night at The Shoes for a fantastic cause! 🧠

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our charity quiz night in aid of the Insight Acquired Brain Injury Foundation.

Together, we raised a brilliant £185, including the prize money from our winning team, High Flying Birds, who very kindly donated their winnings straight back to the charity pot. What a lovely gesture!

And despite a great turnout, we somehow only managed to get one photo — here’s our quizmaster Russ with Rachel from the charity!

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the evening such a success.

Fancy joining us for the next one?

Our next charity quiz night is Tuesday 24th November, so get your thinking caps on and start rounding up your team!

🍔 Burger of the Week… and this one’s a bit saucy!

Introducing The Peppercorn Burger — definitely not one for the faint-hearted (or small appetites)!

Two smashed beef patties stacked with American and Monterey Jack cheese, crispy bacon, crispy fried onions, iceberg lettuce and lashings of rich peppercorn sauce.

Served with fries and our house slaw, because no proper burger is complete without them!

Big flavours, generous portions and plenty of napkins required.

Available this week at The Shoes.

Who’s giving this one a go?

Lunch… but make it hearty!

An old favourite that’s always a good choice at The Shoes — our Steak Sandwich!

Tender steak, creamy blue cheese, tangy pickled red onions and ranch sauce, all packed into a toasted ciabatta and served with fries and house slaw.

Because sometimes a sandwich just won’t cut it… unless it’s this one!

Perfect for when you fancy a proper filling pub lunch.

Stormy weather calls for proper comfort food! 🥧

When it’s cold, wet and windy outside, there’s nothing quite like a hearty homemade pie to warm you up.

This week’s Pie of the Week at The Shoes is Beef, Mushroom & Red W**e — rich, comforting and packed with flavour.

Served with your choice of creamy mashed potato or chips, seasonal vegetables and plenty of gravy.

The perfect winter warmer, especially if you can grab a seat beside the fire!

Who else thinks pie weather is the best kind of pub weather?

🏆 A huge congratulations to our very own Sue!

We’re incredibly proud to share that Sue was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at yesterday’s RAF Sports Awards!

What a fantastic achievement and a wonderful recognition of her dedication and contribution to RAF sport over the years.

Please join us in giving Sue a well-deserved round of applause!

🎉 Wishing a very Happy Birthday to our landlord, Russell!

Landlord, quiz master, farmer, marathon runner… is there anything this man can’t do?!

Whether he’s pulling pints, asking the tricky questions at quiz night, out on the farm or running 26.2 miles for fun (we still don’t understand that one!), he’s certainly a man of many talents!

Join us in wishing Russell a fantastic birthday. Hopefully he’ll manage to put his feet up for five minutes today!

Happy Birthday, Russell, from all of us at The Shoes!
