It's always good to take a look back at some of our past dishes 🍽

Here we have one of our classics. A golden suet crust ready to be cracked in to, revealing the rich and unctuous filling of beef shin (from our farm) slowly braised in red wine. On the side, a generous helping of bone marrow mash and braised greens makes this a real treat for chiller autumn weather.

We're not wishing the summer away... but there is something special about a pub with a roaring fire. Wouldn't you agree? 🔥

Here we have one of our festive dishes from last winter, Salt Baked Celeriac, Ashcombe and Wild Mushroom Pie .

While we're not quite ready to light the fires, we still have a menu full of incredible dishes suited perfectly for the late summer season.

All of the Beef, Hogget and Mutton that we serve at the pub comes from our own farm. Our native breeds are reared in the most natural way possible on our rich Black Mountain pastures.

We understand that the food we produce starts as life, and should be treated with the utmost care and respect, given time to grow and mature naturally.

We practice a nose-to-tail approach when preparing our animals in our on-farm butchery. From our dry-aged cuts to the charcuterie that we cure to the glorious fats that we render into dripping, nothing is wasted.

Our cabins were recently featured in article all about idyllic retreats across the UK.

Wild(ish) sums it up perfectly, surrounded by nature and the rugged Black Mountains but with that added inclusion of luxury. The wood fired sauna, optional theraputic treatments and of course, the option of a delicious dinner too.
